Disappointing Experience at Overhyped Lucky's Restaurant This review details my recent visit to Lucky's Restaurant, a supposedly legendary establishment since 1938. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.

Food Disappointment:

The murg mussalam lacked the expected depth of flavor, tasting suspiciously similar to butter chicken. The mutton masala fry was a bigger letdown. The mutton itself was undercooked, rendering the dish inedisibly tough. Broken Promises:

The restaurant boasts a wall of celebrity endorsements. It felt more like an empty promise, especially since most celebrities offered generic "best wishes" rather than praising the food. This raised doubts about the authenticity of the restaurant's supposed legacy. Overhyped and Overpriced:

Observing other tables and talking to fellow diners confirmed our experience. Several customers shared their disappointment with the food's lackluster taste. Considering the underwhelming taste, the pricing was exorbitant. The dishes weren't even worth half their cost. Positives and Missed Opportunities:

The service staff deserves credit. They were friendly, attentive, and ensured our comfort (except for the temperature issue). Unfortunately, we didn't express our concerns about the food directly to the manager, assuming this was their standard offering. Ambiance Concerns:

While the restaurant's ambiance was decent, a malfunctioning air conditioner significantly impacted our comfort. The sweltering heat inside (mirroring the 38°C outside temperature) detracted from the dining experience. Final Verdict:

Lucky's Restaurant, with its high prices and registered trademark, promises exceptional value. However, my experience revealed a disappointing reality. Compared to tastier and more affordable options like Bademiya or Fountain, Lucky's simply doesn't deliver.

This turned out to be a costly and embarrassing experience, especially since I took my family there for dinner. In hindsight, it wasn't lucky at all.

Recommendation:

I strongly advise against dining at Lucky's, particularly if you prioritize flavorful food at a fair price. Explore other options in the area for a more satisfying...

Normally I do not put a 1 star but sometimes it is necessary to help in improvement of services by good restaurants. The elderly uncle (who i assume is the owner) and head captain are good people and really take efforts to ensure a good dining experience. Except for them, my experience has not been great due to many reasons,

I booked through zomato gold at Lucky cafe where I had opted for 30% discount and paid 100 Rs as advance. Upon reaching at the restaurant, I was told that Lucky cafe (Pizza) and Lucky restaurant (Biryani) are different entities but under one roof and one address. Since I booked under Lucky cafe I will not be able to get 30% off on biryani menus. I was with my family and decided to ignore this goof-up. I had a loyality number with them, since I have dined about 3-4 times here. But they denied loyality discounts saying that I visited after many months. For refund of 100 rs advance of booking through zomato, I had to explain the whole scenario to zomato and wasted lot of time there. Billing staff was really unaware of zomato gold bookings and seemed confused over what i was saying. When I told that 100 rs adjustment has to be done in the bill, the staff replied 'Kab ka booking hai, Jo bill hua hai wohi aapko diya hun jyada nahi diya hun'. Orders were delayed and something as simple as 'Kichcha papad' was brought after following-up 3 times. Only biryani is quickly ready. All nalli related dishes and raan dishes were unavailable in a restaurant which is famous of these dishes (talking about the bandra outlet). Waiters and junior staffs are similar to cheaper biryani joints of kurla, where they have limited customer interation skills. It is a semi fine dine restaurant where mutton biryani is Rs.420 and hence roadside waiter treatments should have been avoided.

Hoping for improvement and some training to staff. Also requesting owners to clear the confusion of cafe and restaurant in zomato. Or you could call and inform the customer about these terms & conditions before they arrive at the restaurant, so they can change the bookings or go somewhere...

Recently, we had the pleasure of dining at the renowned Lucky restaurant in Thane. The ambiance was inviting and comfortable, adorned with photographs of well-known personalities who have savored meals at this establishment. We commenced our culinary journey with the delectable Chicken Dilkush Tikka – five succulent chicken pieces generously stuffed with cheese, marinated to perfection, and expertly tandoored. The flavors were impeccable.

Moving on to the main course, our choices included Murgh Musallam Boneless, Paneer Butter Masala, Chur chur paratha, and chicken biryani. Each dish was expertly crafted, boasting generous portions. We were able to relish the mini versions comfortably, with ample leftovers that we happily took as a parcel. The standout was the Chur chur paratha – four pieces adorned with flavorful masala, delivering a delightful crunch.

For dessert, we indulged in the heavenly Caramel Custard, an absolute delight that left us craving for more. We initially ordered one serving but succumbed to temptation and ended up ordering two additional servings. The Caramel Custard is a must-try.

The staff at Lucky were exceptionally polite and courteous, ensuring impeccable service throughout our dining experience. The highlight, however, was the charming restaurant owner, who personally ensured that every guest enjoyed their meal and took the time to gather feedback from each of them.
