This all veg Restaurant is one of the most biggest stand-alone food destinations in Thane with 2 spacious levels of dining and a rooftop which can be rented out for small parties.
The glitzy Utsav Restaurant signage and a massive ornate door makes it clear that this is a pretty glamorous affair. The interiors are done up with heavy couches n chairs, excellent lighting, soothing colours and a ultra fine dine touch.
The menu is comprehensive and includes best of Indian and intercontinental dishes. It has something for every taste be it Italian, Chinese, Mexican or Desi options.
They have some good variety of beverages and starters to begin with especially the kebabs which have a lot of variations in style of cooking to marinations.
Rim Zim Kebab: this is somewhat similar to a typical veg seekh kebab but was much softer and had a melt in your mouth texture. The marination n tandoor showed a good cooking technique and combined with the spicy mint chutney it tasted very fine indeed. The quality of ingredients was excellent as was evident even in the simple salad provided with the dish.
Veg Spring Roll: a classic South East Asian dish which seems simple but requires good skills to execute especially the outer wrap n frying, as in it should not be too oily or doughy. The rolls here were spot on with flavoursome fillings, enough seasoning and crispy texture. The spicy Schezwan sauce dip was a perfect taste enhancer.
Cole Slaw Salad: again the ingredients were of excellent quality and finely chopped. The white mayo sauce was smooth, creamy and tasted good on the palate. This is a must have if you love mayonnaise.
Special Pav Bhaji: without any exaggeration the bhaji in this dish is one of the better ones we have tasted in a long time. The mashed veggies were mildly spicy, well seasoned and were not overpowered by tomatoes which is usually the case in most hotels. The quantity is good enough and overall its a finely done up dish.
There were too many other dishes that we wanted to try and will take more than one visit to do that.
Even on a weekday the restaurant was well packed which is also due to the fact that the original Utsav Hotel at Paach Pakhadi has its own fan following but this second branch is far better in terms of food, ambiance n service.
The construction work for this place was ongoing for almost a year and it shows in the way the interiors have been done up.
If you want to have a good fine dine experience n quality veg food then this is the place to try out. Located adjacent to Viviana Mall with ample parking n...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is by far the worst experience I have had going to a restaurant. Earlier this day we had gone for a family lunch to Utsav where we cumulatively spent over 12000 bucks. During the course my sister in law found pieces of glass in her drinks which we told the management about. The manager was unapologetic and took the entire thing very lightly. I was shocked since I have never seen such unapologetic behaviour at a restaurant. We could easily have made a big hue and cry about the incident publicly but chose not to. Later while leaving at 3 pm I thought I would go quickly to Viviana mall and come back and therefore didnāt pick up my car from the valet. However it took me a good 7 hours as I forgot about the valet scene. When I came back with the valet ticket the owner spoke rudely like no other restaurant owner would have ever spoken to their clients before. I told him I was sorry for having over parked and didnāt expect I would take so long. Ideally he should have told me that this is not right and to take care in future and made me understand the mistake which I already apologised for. However he told me if I was so poor as to not be able to afford a parking fee then I should have told him and he would have paid for me (btw I own a multi million dollar business and my family owns a whole Bunglow in Juhu). I told him he cannot speak to clients this way and humiliate them in his restaurant merely for a parking space. That too for someone who visits often (only because my family prefers it being a pure veg restaurant). I told him he could charge me for the parking time 500-1000 whatever it may be. He started blabbering and chucked my keys at me. The last time I was here he had picked up a fight with another customer and was shouting at them too.
Pathetic would be an understatement for this business. Iāve heard that Utsav has had humble beginnings from their earlier establishment but its rightly said that money...

Suggestion:: If you are coming in evening at weekends, com rrive by 7:15 pm or 7:30 pm. if you arrive later there might be some waiting time.
Food: Food was Excellent No complaints about that. It was worth the money. Atmosphere: Good Ambience and Huge Seating arrangement.
Service:: 1] If you are working in Maharashtra, learn to speak in Marathi. I was ordering in Marathi and person taking order was taking in Hindi. This is straightforward disrespect to Marathi Language and people. Still i didnt mind.
2] Service is slow, Soup was served quickly but it took them a while to get 1st starter and 2nd starter was even late.
3] After having food we thouht or ordering ice cream, and when we called the person for order he explained which flavours are available and said i will be back. And i called him almost 3 to 4 times. Also informed another waiter that plz ask person to take order, he said 5 minutes and then never took our order. But when we said that please make bill then it was quickly given.
Even when we asked ice cream flavours we were served finger bowls immediately as if they are aking us to leave and deliberately not take our order.
They dont care about people sitting inside but want to quickly provide seats to others.
This is worst treatment ever experienced by us.
To UTSAV management::
Please employ locals. Marathi speaking people whoc can respect local language, culture and customers. These people 7 to 8 of them just kept walking from near us, SHowed hands to them multiple times but deliberately ignored us as if they are feeding...
