Ignite, the cityâs premier barbeque and grill restaurant ran an Arabian Food Festival, aptly titled âAn Arabian Ecstasyâ crafted by the maestro of Arabian cuisine, Chef K. K. Gopalkrishnan from Sheraton Grand Bangalore.
The grand feast is inspired from the cuisines of Iran, Lebanon and Egypt and is accompanied by innovative cocktails crafted by their award winning mixologist.
So when #TheBTeam was called over to cover the same, all we could react was âMasha Allah!!â
I tried the Soup-e-Murg which is a classic Persian chicken flavored broth with some chunks of chicken and veggies. Served hot, this one tasted nice and was quite filling as well.
We had a lot of options in appetizers which are usually the staple of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.
The Falafel is a crispy patty of mashed chickpea and parsley seasoned with sesame seed and garlic, served with tahini sauce. Absolutely amazing falafel, nice crisp coating yet wasnât dry on the inside.
The Persian Seekh Kebab had cottage cheese and bell pepper marinated with aromatic Persian spices. Tender chunks of paneer which went well with the rice and dips served alongwith. #MustTry
The Mezze Platter was the one we were all eager about. It had hummus, baba ganoush, burani spinach, muhmarra, fattush salad and Iranian olive oil salad and was served with pita bread. Loved the hummus and baba ganoush, the Iranian olive oil salad was a different flavor from what I have tried earlier while the burani spinach, mujmarra and fattush salad were decent.
The Chelo Koobideh which is grounded lamb kebab from Iran and the Joojeh Koobideh, a minced chicken kebab flavored with parsley were both done nicely. The meats were cooked to perfection and spiced appropriately.
The Joojeh Kebab had chargrilled skewer of chicken morsels marinated with aromatic Arabic spices. One of the yummiest preparations of chicken kebab I have had in recent times. Absolutely bang-on flavors with tender chicken chunks. #DeliciousDelicious
For mains, we tried the Gheimeh Bademjan which is a stew of Iranian and Iraqi meat and aubergine and is served with Baghali Polo, an Iranian dill and saffron pulao. Perfectly cooked meat which was well marinated in the spices gave off delicious aromas and had a unique taste as well. I quite enjoyed this main.
For desserts, we had the trio of Baklava, Om Ali and Dates Ice Cream.
That was one of the best baklava I have ever had with crisp flaky phyllo pastry appropriately sweetened and laden with dry fruits as garnishing. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended
Om Ali is a baked dessert made with puff pastry sheets soaked in milk, honey and rosewater and topped with whipped cream before baking. An absolute winner!!! #YumYum #HighlyRecommended
The dates ice cream was also very well made, creamy and with a subtle flavor of the dates which does not overpower the ice cream. #DeliciousDelicious
Ignite and Courtyard by Marriott, Hinjawadi have always been at the forefront of bringing creative food festivals to the public and the current festival is sure to make everyone...
Read moreWe recently visited Vibe Bar & Grill at Courtyard by Marriott, Hinjewadi for dinner and it turned out to be such a memorable experience.
Starting with the ambience, the place is absolutely beautiful and sets the perfect tone for a relaxed evening or even a cozy date night. They have a lovely cabana-style seating area which adds a very romantic and peaceful touch to the whole vibe.
Moving on to the food, everything from starters to desserts was spot on. We began with a veg platter and to my surprise I absolutely loved it. The tandoori aloo and paneer were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Genuinely one of the best Iâve had. We also tried the chicken tikka which was equally delicious.
In the main course we had laal maas with tandoori roti and the dish was rich, flavorful and well balanced. A special mention to the Cheese Chilli and Masala Naan, a unique recommendation by Mr. Amit, and wow it was a star. Iâd go back just to have that again. We also tried their biryani which was nicely done.
For desserts, we had the sizzling brownie with vanilla ice cream and their version of kulfi falooda. The brownie was indulgent and the kulfi was just right, not overly sweet and very well balanced in flavors and portion.
The cocktails were another highlight. Creative, well made and beautifully presented. Watching the bartender work his magic was a treat in itself.
A big shoutout to Mr. Amit, the manager, who made sure we were comfortable throughout. He checked in on us a few times, suggested dishes and ensured our evening went perfectly. The staff overall was extremely courteous and attentive which made the whole experience even better.
I think Iâll definitely recommend this place for a date night, birthday or anniversary celebration. Or even if you just want to enjoy some great food with top notch service, this place...
Read moreMy expectations were actually super high because of the brand name associated with this place. We were there for an office dinner meet where our customers from uk were also with us. Atmosphere : this was the only best part, we were seated in a canopied area which had nice seating arrangements. However the canopied area was having no light, not even a faint one hence we had to depend on the surrounding light for some visibility.
Food : this was a major disappointment. The menu presented to us was like a 3-4 pagers only veg nonveg combined. I have seen more elaborate menus in my neighborhood restaurants. So from the very limited options we chose the non veg and veg platter. The non veg platter was strictly okay. The seekh kabab was better than the mildly seasoned fish. Then we ordered some butter garlic prawns which was not in the menu but the server got it made. Prawns were good and the customer also appreciated. The next set of orders tandoori chicken and red thai curry prawn both not on menu was palatable. The sticky rice served with the curry was pretty al dente hence didn't go well with the curry. None of the non veg dishes were something which I would like to reordee apart from the butter garlic prawns. The veg dishes seemed better in comparison. The ginger ale that we got had a half inch froth of God knows what and sediments at the bottom like sugarcane juice. And it tasted nothing like a ginger ale!
Service : I would say pathetically slow. Not that it was too crowded, but even to get a simple sweet lime soda if it takes more than 15-20 minutes then one can do the math for the food orders.
I wouldn't recommend this place for food. Stay maybe but not food. Food Pictures didn't come good, as the light was too dim to even figure out what's...
