I’ve been a loyal customer of Ahar for several years now, but I’m extremely disappointed with how things have changed recently — especially when it comes to handling dietary preferences.
I strictly follow a Jain diet, and I make it a point to clearly mention this every single time I order. Despite that, I’ve been served regular food containing onion, garlic, etc., on three different occasions. What’s even worse is that when I double-checked with the waiter, he confidently assured me that the food was Jain — only for me to later realize that it wasn’t.
This isn’t just a casual mistake — it’s a serious breach of trust, especially for those of us who follow dietary rules for religious reasons. And now I’m left wondering how many times I may have unknowingly consumed non-Jain food in the past.
The first time I complained, the manager offered to cancel the item from the bill. By the third time, I made it clear that this solution was not acceptable anymore. The manager told me they were busy due to a crowd and would call back with a resolution — but they never did.
This experience has truly shaken the trust I had in this restaurant. If you follow strict dietary guidelines — whether for religious, health, or personal reasons — I urge you to double and triple check your food before eating here. And even then, there are no guarantees.
I sincerely hope Ahar takes accountability and improves their staff training and order verification processes. Until then, I will have to...
Read moreAhar stands out as a unique dining destination, offering a diverse array of vegetarian cuisine from around the world. Nestled conveniently close to King Circle, its popularity renders finding car parking a considerable challenge. Typically bustling, especially around 9pm, patrons should anticipate a brief wait of 5-10 minutes for a table.
The restaurant prides itself on delivering exceptional taste and quality across its expansive menu, which spans cuisines from various corners of the globe. However, one aspect that often falls short is the pace of service, known for its sluggishness. To circumvent this, it's advisable to plan ahead and place all orders at once, as waiting for each course can prolong the dining experience significantly. Even for repeat orders of something as simple as Roti, expect a considerable delay.
While the flavors and execution of dishes remain commendable, there has been a recent decline in portion sizes, leaving diners feeling unsatisfied with a single serving. This reduction in quantity has led to some questioning the value for money, with an average cost ranging between ₹500-600 per person.
Despite these shortcomings, the overall dining experience at Ahar tends to be positive, attributed to its diverse menu offerings and consistently good taste.

Read moreI recently dined here and had a mixed experience. I tried the Veg Kolhapuri with garlic butter naan, which was delicious, though I found the naan size smaller than what I’m used to from other restaurants. The Jeera Rice was also well-prepared and tasty, meeting my expectations.
However, the jalapeno rolls were disappointing. They were overly crispy and didn’t have any noticeable jalapeno flavor, making them not worth it. Dessert was a highlight, though – the warm Gulab Jamun was just perfect!
Service could definitely use some improvement. Although the restaurant wasn’t crowded as it was an off-peak time, it took quite a while for dishes to arrive. The jalapeno rolls came 20 minutes after ordering, almost at the end of my main course, and the Jeera Rice took another 10-15 minutes to be served.
Overall, it was an okay experience. Some dishes were delightful, but the slow service and a few underwhelming items left room for...
