What was good: Biscoff Tart, Nachos, Orange Brew coffee was good. The interiors of the place are cutely done.
What was NOT good at all: Everything else.
Not happy with this place at all. Over priced menu with very small portion size. Taste of food was just average. Staff and management was not warm, not hospitalable.
I specifically came to the restaurant 3 days prior to check about a special gluten free dessert for my father in law. I was told that they don't allow outside cakes and they will check internally and let me know if it's possible. No one got back to me with any answer. When we reached the restaurant they said they don't have the gluten free cake that they had told me we can order from them. So neither did I order a cake. Nor did they provide me one. Instead the server tells me that I can order something on Zomato or Swiggy for a gluten free option. Whatever the miscommunication may have been, the least a restaurant can do is offer one of their own small dessert complimentary to make the customer feel welcome (and our bill was over 10,000 Rs. btw and the gluten free cake was specially for my father who is a cancer patient, I had mentioned all of this to the manager 3 days prior). But alas not a single gesture of remorse from the managements side and the only thing they could tell me was that they are sorry and it was a misunderstanding on my end. Great way for a new restaurant to start off and build credibility. Safe to say won't be coming here again nor recommending it to others. Which is sad because I was so excited about Bom Dia that I had reserved my table 2 weeks in advance. Unfortunately we did not...
Read moreGiving a 5 star because it was a good experience and whatever I will state down is only for the good as we understand it is a very new place and things are yet to fall in place!!
Firstly, the ambience and how the place is made is a 10 on 10. We were a group of 8 people and we always meet for lunches and good food. Food was very good just that the waiter who took our order did not know much about anything. Maybe poorly trained. We called for 4 soups and told him to make it 4 by 8 which is agreed on but when the soup came, he said 1/2 does not happen. It is impossible that it does not happen. It’s just that he did not know. We told him you should have told us earlier, for everything his answer was ‘I din’t know’. Then he got us extra soup bowls and we had to make it 1/2 like such an easy thing but that creates a bad impact. Then he told us about a ‘Soya starter’ which we obviously thought was Soya chaap with some spices, but when he got it it was stir fried veggies in a soy sauce, now this though he should know. Every single thing we asked him he was blank. Later the indian food took almost 40 mins to come in, but it was good.
I don’t want your stars to go down hence given a 5 star for everything as i know there will be improvement. Just note these points and work on the same and your place would be a 10 on 10. The desserts were just tooooo good! In a long time had such amazing desserts, so kudos to that.
Thank you for a...
Read moreBomdia is a newly opened restaurant in Matunga offering a wide range of cuisines – Italian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Asian, North Indian, and even French bakery items like croissants and pastries. Truly a multi-cuisine spot.
Food: The food quality was good. I especially loved the jacket potato and the orange coffee cold brew – both were delicious.
However, portion sizes are on the smaller side, and the prices are quite high, comparable to a 5-star dining experience. One star deducted for small portion for the price.
Ambience & Decor: The ambience is lovely, and the decor is modern and eye-catching. It was slightly noisy during my visit, but the seating arrangements are well thought out, with options from cozy 2-seaters to larger 8-seaters.
Service: The service was prompt and warm. The staff greeted and served with smiling faces, which added to the experience.
Parking: One downside is the lack of valet or dedicated parking. Street parking is the only option and can be quite difficult in this area.
Location & First Impressions: The name "Bomdia" seems like a fusion of Bombay and India. From the outside, it doesn’t look like a full-scale restaurant – more like a patisserie, especially with the pastry counter right at the entrance. This can be a little misleading, considering the wide range of cuisines they offer.
Overall, a good place to try if you’re looking for variety and don’t mind...
