This is a very small outlet situated in a very peaceful surrounding of Five Gardens area. Just a 10-15 mins walk from either wadala stations or Dadar station. So started with some shakes and juices. I ordered for Watermelon Juice and i must say this was one of the freshest ..i dont know wheather this was a proper word.. but yes this was so fresh . I just loved it. Totally Recommended .Even the grape juice i tried was great. Then came in the fries. I loved that we ourselves need to add the masala to the fries and make it for ourselves. I love that process. 3 fries which i tried. Garlic Cheese , Mexican and Tandoori. All 3 were great but the garlic cheese is a must try fries when you visit here. Pizzas were the next in line up. I loved the new pizza bas which they use that is the puff . It tastes like the khari which we have with tea . This is something different and was nice. 4 Cheese with the puff base was great. Finally the biryanis arrived . I tried 4 biryanis. Classic Lamb Classic Chicken Butter Chicken Afghani Chicken Basically these biryanis are not the authentic biryanis but who care... ITS BIRYANI... I loved the Classic Chicken and Classic Lamb . They are the must try over here. Also One thing which i loved was the packing of these biryani boxes. High quality of packing and very well arranged in the boxes. You get the cutlary and raita within the box with a special raita masala which was SUPERRR SE UPARR... In the end it was time for some desserts. Main attraction over here is the Strawberry Souffle . Its the best . Dont forget to try that one. Chocolate mousse and caramel mousse were okayish i can say. Overall its a pocket friendly on a higher side type of food joint. Its a must visit place. The manager whose name i have forgotten but wont forget him is a very nice host i must say. Having a smiling face throughout . Do visit this place. My rating would be a 4/5

Primarily, a delivery outlet Charcoal eats serve awesome quick bites to munch on as late as 3 am during weekends and till 11 pm during weekdays. The place has seating arrangements too which I assume that hardly anybody show up for dine in whereas like most of us opt for delivery service from the outlet. It offers amazing biryanis and quick bites as the brand says it all - 'bite that good' and yes we do bite it good from Charcoal Eats. The delivery is outstanding with organised colourful packaging. I happened to go on for trying out their famous biryani and some quick bites right at their outlet in Dadar east. I found the interiors very attractive and cosy. Since the place has famed itself more into delivery but otheriwse I think it is also a chill place to dine in with family and friends. Talking about my yummilicious orders, I had- 1) Peach Ice Tea - They serve beautiful glass bottles of 'Brewhouse' Peach Ice Tea. Its cute as well as amazing drink to opt for with the meal aside. 2) Barbeque Loaded Fries- Crispy potato fried topped with bbq sauce and some spicy masala were tasting too good when eaten hot. 3) Chicken Mughlai Paratha- Chicken chunks and onion mixture loaded inside fried parathas tasted just like the rolls. 4) Chicken Tikka Biryani- Reasonable price for the awesome biryani. Small chicken chunks beneath the fine layered biryani can be good to go to try this one. 5) Salted Caramel Mousse- The salty and sweet taste of this chocolate mousse is divine. Although not their in house production, but still this one would be loved be loved by all the sweet lovers just like me. I totally loved this vibrant place. And it serves awesome quick bites and biryanis and moreover at decent price that could be the relevant reason for quick hogging to opt for from the same.

Charcoal Eats originally started as a Biryani delivering chain & have extended their menu with addition of starters, rolls & pizza. FOOD ( 4/5 ) Mutton Seekh Adana : Juicy, mildly spiced yet flavorful meat. Succulent kebab. Don't miss out on it if you are a mutton lover. Chicken Kheema : MUST HAVE. One of the best kheema in Mumbai. Not too spicy, not too oily yet it wasn't dry either. Just wow. Minced chicken kheema added with some dum potato & greenpeas, served with paratha. Classic Mutton Biryani : Succulent, very well marinated mutton sparkled with fried onions on top, made in bohri style, it's a boldly flavoured biryani, zesty, curd & raita mix was given alongside You definitely need a dessert to clam down your tongue after having it. Strawberry Souffle : Creamy, precisely sweet with a good strawberry flavour. Go for it if you love strawberries. Classic Chicken Tikka : Lackluster! Chicken wasn't soft at all though marinated well. But since it wasn't juicy, spoilt all the fun. Give it a miss! SERVICE ( 5/5 ) For a delivery kitchen packing & delivery times matters the most. Their packing was good, no spillage, neat & clean, was delivered on expected time & it was hassle free without any call. CONCLUSION Charcoal Eats is a food delivering chain on which you can bank upon for a decent food & perfect delivery time especially when your hunger pangs strike. You can try their combos too which is more economical. VFM 4/5.

Rating: 5/5 (definitely a must visit, great variety and VFM too)

This old favourite (Chili Flakes) has been rebranded as Charcoal Eats, the menu has changed significantly but one of the most important things remains: Passion! Passion to feed good food to people at reasonable rates, consistently across their outlets!!

So, when their PR team contacted me to review their Dadar outlet, I happily said yes! The experience was positive, just like at all their other outlets present across Mumbai & I can safely recommend this chain for their yummy food!! That they are extremely popular as a dine-in option via the delivery apps was visible to me as well, as I counted at least 20-25 deliveries happening in the 1.5 hours I sat at their Dadar outlet!! Great deals on their own app as well, do check those out too!!

We had:

BBQ Loaded Fries: what I really loved about this version of BBQ fries is that the fries are generously lathered with both BBQ sauce and Mayo, which takes away some of the excess pungency of the BBQ sauce (yep, I am not a huge BBQ sauce fan but mayo, oh bring on the mayo anytime!). The fries in the box remain crisp and well fried, no soggy or raw fries here to report, phew!! Easy Recommend for all you fries freaks.... plus at 119 Rupees, the quantity is enough to fill you up! VFM!!

Chicken Mughlai Paratha: think Baida Roti with yummy chicken filing and that is exactly what you get! It was served piping hot, smelt great and I even tried some (upon the insistence of my companion) & I can easily recommend it to anyone who loves their Chicken and Baida Roti, especially at that reasonable price of 149 Rupees, for which you get 4 chunky pieces of this yummy paratha!!

Veg Masala Biryani: while my companion was already full from the BBQ Fries and Paratha, I did venture to taste some of this biryani, which comes accompanied with a small packet of Curd and a yummy raita masala mix (god, I absolutely love that masala, especially when mixed with the curd)! The biryani itself was great, the rice was perfectly cooked and they use this masala that is basically cooked over charcoal pieces, which gives it this nice and smoky aftertaste! I definitely think this is one of the best biryanis out there in Bombay, especially at the reasonable price of INR 279 for Veg, which can definitely feed more than 1 person at a time! Their quantity is generous and I definitely recommend you try their Paneer Makhani Biryani, which I have tasted at their Warden Road outlet and was lovely too!!

Peach Iced Tea: this is a pretty, well presented bottle of Brewhouse Classic Peach Iced tea, which I would have enjoyed more had the drink been even cooler! Disappointingly, they did not have any ice to add to this baby and I ended up drinking what could have been a much better Iced Tea, if only the temperature was more to my liking!! The overall taste, though, was good and what I was glad about was that the drink didn't have too much added sugar! Do Try it out folks....80 Rupees seems reasonable for a large bottle of this drink as well!!

Salted Caramel Mousse: we ended the meal with this lovely dessert, which is easily one of my fave mousses coming out of a box these days! It has a lovely salty, caramel flavour and even though it is frozen, the texture and consistency remains! Wherever they are sourcing this from, it is a very good supplier and I am sure this shall remain a fave, especially when I order in their food from this or other outlets....worth it at 129 Rupees, which may seem a little steep for a dessert, but trust me, it is amazing!!

All in all, they remain a definite MUST GO TO if good taste at a reasonable price remains your priority, as it should I suppose!

5/5 team, please keep the consistency going and the prices reasonable!

I'll keep coming back or...

Good Food excites people and Biryani EXCITES people more!

Biryani is an elusive dish; very rare that one gets one’s hands on a decent dish of Biryani which satiates the senses & stomach as well.

I had ordered for 2 out of the available vegetarians options from their menu. Sadly no vegetarian options are available in starters whereas the non-vegetarians have Kebabs.

The expectations start building up as soon as the pack arrives. The pack is attractive and a lot of attention has been paid to the details. The box has 2 slots; one horizontal to hold the tray which contains the Biryani and another circular slot to hold the cup / bowl of Curd. One plastic spoon, seasoning for the Dahi, paper napkin and toothpick are provided along inside the pack. No need to run around to arrange for the cutlery, just open the pack & dig in.

Steaming hot Biryani is layered in a food grade container and then sealed. The aroma of the caramelized onions which arises once the foil is opened is very nice and the expectations heighten even more.

VEG AFGHAN BIRYANI [INR 230] This Biryani is made with white rice and is a mild Biryani but the menu had shown it a spicy one. The base masala was mild from yoghurt and cashew. In addition to the base, some vegetables like finely diced carrots, French beans and baby corn were added. Only let down was that some grains were broken. RECOMMENDED if you like a mild tasting Biryani.

PANEER & VEGETABLE BIRYANI [INR 220] This Biryani is made with yellow rice and topped with birista [deep fried onion slices till they turn golden brown]. The Biryani had green peas, carrots and small cubes of soft Paneer. The masala was slightly high on the spice content. Initially I thought that maybe after mixing the base masala and the rice, the taste would be balanced properly but the spice was overriding.

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE [INR 70] Though I am not great fan of Chocolate Mousse, this was a wonderful way to end a hearty meal. A nice gooey mixture made from milk, sugar, cream and chocolate. This dish is Chef’s special preparation. RECOMMENDED.

Delivery is spot on and the Biryani is delivered decently hot. The staff was courteous to call and confirm my order because the application had become non-responsive after making the payment.

Price wise this place scores some good points as the Biryani is decently priced for the quantity served. The portion is just about enough for one person with an average appetite, on a very hungry stomach 2 Biryani’s will do a good job.

Charcoal Biryani does a fairly decent job at providing a wholesome meal at affordable prices. But the search for a “GOOD” Biryani is never ending I guess but better so as it giving out good options..

Happy Eating!

Craving for some good traditional food, then this is the right place to drop by. They serve some real tasty and delicious recipes of amazing food in both veg and non veg choices.

LOCATION: It is located at the prime location of Five Gardens in Dadar East. Easily accessible by any means of transport. 5 mins from both Dadar and Wadala Railway Station.

AMBIENCE: The Interior is very simple and basic. They have potraits of delicious food hanged on the wall all around. As it is located at Five Gardens, one can definitely expect complete peace away from the noise of the outside world. They also have a good cafe like seating arrangement for 20-25 people.

WHAT I TRIED:

*CHICKEN SEEKH KEBAB ROLL Chicken seekh kebab wrapped in a malabari paratha, with spicy harissa sauce, garlic mayo, onion and french fries.

*CHICKEN BAIDA ROTI chatpata minced chicken cooked in a blend of spices, wrapped in an egg roti. Crispy and Yummy!

*SCHEZWAN LOADED FRIES A scrumptious blend of french fries with loaded schezwan spice, spicy harissa sauce and garlic mayoneese. Delicious!

*BOMBAY MASALA PIZZA A delicious unique, crunchy puff crust with special toppings of green chilli chipotle, onions and minced chicken. Amazing!

*CLASSIC MUTTON BIRYANI Traditional bohri type dum biryani with spiced curd, fried onions and house blend of bohri spices. Super Delicious!

*STRAWBERRY SOUFFLE This souffle delights you with its creamy mouth feel, soft and fluffy consistency and the small bits of strawberry inside it makes it very special.

*CHOCOLATE MOUSSE This tasty treat is the perfect pick me up, especially if you're into chocolate!

SERVICE: The staff were very friendly and courteus. Service was quick and promptu. Staff was very helpful too!

MY RECOMMENDATIONS: *SCHEZWAN LOADED FRIES *CHICKEN BAIDA ROTI *BOMBAY MASALA PIZZA *CLASSIC MUTTON BIRYANI
