❖ Location- BKC, itself is enough to describe the location, in the godrej building on ground floor. (5/5)

❖ My Recommendation- • White Zen Beer • Vienna Lager • Beer Batter Prawns • Fish Skewers • Red Snapper with ginger cream sauce

❖ Theme- A specialised beer serving restaurant which has European food menu is what gateway taproom can be defined as. (4.5/5)

❖ Ambience- Simple yet classy interiors and can say similar to a perfect beer serving pub. Seating is nice and comfortable with some heighted tables and some normal tables. One wall is painted with their most favourite beer. (4/5)

❖ Food and Beverage-Gateway taproom is all about serving their special in house beers along with other alcohol options and European food. Menu serves super refreshing and different variety of beers. Craft beers are always welcomed so this will be one of my most favourite places for sure. As I said they are specialist in beers, their alcohol menu is also lengthy serving all other alcohol beverages. It’s good because everyone is not a beer person so whoever don’t like beers, they can order any other beverages like whisky, wine etc. You can explain the server about your choice of beer; server will suggest you best one from their menu. They have few (2-3) beers which are permanent in the menu and other beers keep changing according to the season. Coming to food menu, was really happy to see my type of food being served. Simple European food served in a classic way. Now days many places you see lot of hype about the food but here it was simple yet most delicious food in recent time. They have kept European food in which it’sall mix, nothing limited to one country in Europe. (4.5/5)

Beers-

• WHITE ZEN- Perfect beer for me, my type little zesty and mild in taste. A must try beer who likes mild and fresh beer.(5/5)

• DOPPELGANGER- Wheat beer made dark but not very strong but little pungent in taste.(4/5)

• SIDE CAR- This apple sider was perfect who are apple sider lovers.(4/5)

• VIENNA LAGAR - A perfect lager I must say and can say my 2nd best beer of the evening. Super smooth and medium dark and not very strong though.(5/5)

Food- • FISH SKEWERS- Fish chunks marinated in simple salt, pepper, lemon juice and then cooked perfectly. Fish tasted very light and soft enough with good amount of chopped coriander in it. Salad which was served along with it was excellent too, mix lettuce tossed in simple lemon dressing but tasted wonderful.(4.5/5)

• BEER BATTER PRAWNS- Fresh Tiger prawns coated in beer batter and deep fried to the perfection. Best dish of the evening I must say. Prawns were so crispy, chef did superb job here by squeezing excess water from prawns to make it even crispy. They served two homemade dips with it; one of it was outstanding which was made with green chillies, apple sider, vinegar, green tomatoes. A must try dish.(5/5)

• SHREDED DUCK CONFIT- Confit duck which is always a well cooked meat, shredded further and topped on a thick rye toast. Nice and simple yet delicious.(4/5)

• RED SNAPPER WITH ASPARAGUS- Red snapper cooked very nicely and topped with ginger cream sauce and asparagus on the bed of potato mash. An ideal dish to order who loves this kind of food. Totally nailed it.(5/5) • BEER –A- MISU- A tiramisu made using beer instead of coffee liquor. Different thought of serving beer infused food. Dessert was tasting good but it was not set well so it was very runny like thick milkshake. If it would have been set well then it was wonderful dish I must say.(4/5)

❖ To sum up- A restaurant serving their own fresh beers and that too 10-12 varieties is very rare. They don’t serve normal branded beer but they have other alcohol beverages in the menu who are not beer lovers. Excellent beer option, delicious European food is the key points of them I must say. This will be one of my regular placesnow onwards as tap beers are always I crave for along with European food. A must visit place my friends,...

This spacious place in bkc is perfect place for beer lovers as they do serve some really good collection of homemade craft beers.. Besides it they also serve some good varieties of cocktail n some really lip smacking food out here .. Being located in business hub this place is apt for deep conversations in nicely casual n positive atmosphere with music played out in background in mild volume.. Ambiance is lovely.. It has wooden benches n tall chairs seating which were very comfortable specially tall chair seating as they have cushion to it.. Scintillating bar in ends will surely grab ur attention n if u are sports lover then they have huge screen placed out near bar where one can enjoy watching live sporting events too while sipping drinks .. We started here with beer flight in which we had option to choose any four wheat based craft beers (125ml each) n we opted for white zen, side car, Czech dark n American pale ale.. White zen n side cars were very enjoyable will be loved by any beer lovers.. If u like bit bitter n spicy taste then only go for Czech dark lager one.. I personally liked it a lot as it had roasty coffee type flavour to it n was perfect refreshing one.. American pale ale was light yet very flavourful.. We also had bourbon oak mead beer which was honey based beer n was lovely.. So if u looking to try something exciting go for this one.. While having drinks we also tried quite a few items out here n I found food exceptionally good.. We started with spinach cottage croquettes n they were delicious,very less oily n had rich flavour to it.. It had nice crispy outer layer n was super soft inside n melted the moment kept in mouth.. We also had tomato olive crostini n it was superb.. Crunchy baguette slices, toasted with olive oil, were topped with melty cheese, juicy tomatoes, black olives, and fresh basil n each bite of it was heavenly.. We also had potato onion feta flatbread which had sweet potatoes, onion n feta cheese over crispy bread n it tasted yummy.. If u a burger/sandwich eater do go for veg sliders out here.. These vegetarian sliders are loaded with fantastic taste and texture n had healthy ingredients... It was lip smacking.. We also had penned veggies pasta out here n we opted for red sauce.. Pasta was cooked well, had bit veggies n cheese in it, n it tasted very good.. We ended our meal with financier dessert.. Financier cake, which almost is like mawa cake, was served along with vanilla ice cream n was topped with chocolate sauce n together it created magic.. Absolutely scrumptious.. We also tried Lucy in the sky cocktail which was good.. It had mixture of pineapple, orange, blackberry, red wine n tequila n was very strong n flavourful.. We also tried peachy grape which was mild n refreshing one.. Had gin zen a beer n gin based cocktail which was too strong n gin lovers will love it.. Overall I loved food n drinks out here.. Service was of top quality.. Our server was very courteous, took very good care of us n was helpful in placing order of our choices.. Full marks to you guys.. One important thing to mention is that this place, unlike other places, have happy hours (33% off) daily from 10pm to 12 midnight which is quite unique.. I will surely recommend this place to all as it offers something or the other to everyone n I'm sure u guys won't be disappointed being here.. A ted bit expensive but trust me it's worth every penny you spend out here.

The name gateway taproom is inspired from Mumbai's local landmark The Gateway of India.

First let me tell me some interesting insights of this brand. Gateway brewing company was founded in November 2011 by 3 friends with the sole purpose to brew classic styles of beer with local ingredients and make them available to bars and restaurants at an affordable prices.

Cut to today , Now the company has their own taproom that was long overdue.

Where ?

The business hub of the city that never sleeps. Bombay. They opened their outlet in bandra Kurla complex.

Why BKC ?

After sitting in the cold glass and chrome facades of the office everyone needs some time to unwind and end their day on a high. What better than having some unique and special beers at gateway taproom.

How is the Decor?

The decor of the gateway taproom is simple yet unique and rich. The high dark wood tables, The beer garden style benches , The old school classic laps that look like upturned bowls and the brick walls painted with quotes and gateway taproom logo.

My thoughts and assumptions before entering the place ?

So I had assumed that like other breweries, this place also would have concentrated more on their beer than food. But ooh ooh oh. Surprise surprise the food is equally as good as their beer. Food + Beer = Perfect.

They also serve some super moctails and unique beer cocktails. That's the first for me. Never had I had a beer cocktail, Thank you for making me know there is something called a beer cocktail also.

They also have yummies on their menu which is infused with beer. I'm a beer lover so this was the same feeling that a kid gets when he enters a candy shop.

Apple cider beer which showcases the sweetness and mild tart notes of Lal ambri apples from Kashmir and is superbly satisfying to drink.

White zen.

Refreshing wheat beer with hints of banana and clove. This is one of their flagship beer.

Czech dark lager

Dark Czech style lager with malty and subtle roast notes balanced with a slight happiness from late addictions.

Its that time of the year where ppl want mangos in everything and anything they have or drink.

Main Pressed lamb ( Loved it. Recommended ) Monks Chicken.

Dessert Financier Double chocolate cake.

The person who was assigned to my table was Deepak. A guy who actually made my experience perfect. He was on point with his Recommendations. He was also brave enough to say " No sir. Go for this rather than that ". If the management of gateway taproom is reading this then you need to sign this man for long has you'll have a gem at your outlet.

Oh yeah and this outlet does not have a set DJ , the music is controlled by the jukebox app which allows users to pick and play tracks from gateway taproom stock of tunes.

Overall a perfect lunch experience , an experience which I would love to live forever. My stomach was full. The clock was ticking. But my soul was not ready to leave as you don't get such Perfect...
