I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gujjubhai Ni Thali, a haven for authentic Gujarati cuisine. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I could feel the warm and inviting atmosphere that permeated the air. The staff greeted me with smiles, emphasizing their commitment to sharing their culture through the medium of food.
The menu at Gujjubhai Ni Thali is a delightful celebration of Gujarat's culinary heritage. It offers a wide array of dishes, both familiar classics and intriguing new creations. As a lover of Gujarati food, I couldn't wait to embark on a gastronomic adventure and experience the flavors that define this region.
I opted for their signature Thali, a platter filled with a delightful assortment of flavors, textures, and aromas. As the thali was placed before me, I was captivated by the vibrant colors and the tantalizing aroma that wafted up from the various dishes. It was evident that every item had been prepared with love and attention to detail.
Starting with the daal, a staple in Gujarati cuisine, I savored the delicate blend of spices and the comforting creaminess that accompanied each spoonful. The selection of vegetables showcased the diversity of Gujarati cooking, with each one cooked to perfection and bursting with freshness. From the crispy and tangy dhokla to the hearty and fragrant Undhiyu, every bite transported me to the heart of Gujarat.
The thali also included a variety of bread and rice options, such as fluffy rotis, aromatic pulao, and the quintessential Gujarati favorite, Khichdi. Each accompaniment added a unique element to the meal, enhancing the overall experience.
One of the highlights of the meal was the delectable sweets that concluded the thali. The melt-in-your-mouth mithai and the refreshing aamras left me with a satisfyingly sweet ending to the feast. It was evident that the desserts were made with the finest ingredients, and the passion for culinary excellence shone through in every bite.
What truly sets Gujjubhai Ni Thali apart is not only the exceptional food but also the genuine hospitality and warmth exuded by the staff. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to share the stories behind each dish. It was evident that they took pride in their heritage and were genuinely passionate about offering an authentic Gujarati dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to Gujjubhai Ni Thali was a memorable culinary journey through the flavors of Gujarat. The commitment to using fresh ingredients, the love poured into every dish, and the dedication to showcasing Gujarati culture made this dining experience truly exceptional. Whether you're a fan of Gujarati cuisine or eager to explore new culinary horizons, I highly recommend visiting Gujjubhai Ni Thali to savor the rich tapestry of flavors...
Read moreWent to GujjuBhai Ni Thali on a weekday night around 9:30 PM, and honestly, it was a really good experience overall. We ordered two thalis, and the total came to âč1150 â very reasonable for the variety and quality they offer.
First things first, valet parking was smooth and super helpful. The watchman was genuinely polite and guided us really well â small thing, but it started the evening on a good note.
Now, coming to the food â the thali had a great spread, and every sabji we tried was delicious. You can tell everything is made fresh. The ambience was pleasant, not over the top, just comfortable and inviting. Service was quick and efficient, which really matters when youâre hungry.
One small thing that did bother me: the waiters communicate by making a âchutkiâ sound (a sharp finger snap to call each other), and while I get itâs efficient, it was honestly a little irritating while we were eating â kind of breaks the mood. I understand if that's something they've trained at etc or whatever way it is. I've been to thali places & they usually they have finger signs to call each other, no one calls each other by chutki, it's quite disrespectful to each other. As they say, the restaurant is as good as you treat your staff. Also, the bathrooms could definitely be cleaner.
But apart from that, no complaints. Great place for an affordable and satisfying Gujarati thali with fast service and a warm vibe. Would definitely...
Read moreWe had a real poor experience with today's dinner for every item which was served
Aam Ras It seemed like a canned juice or Payri, bit definitely had no Alphonso on it. The colour was also bright yellow which otherwise is usually orange for aam ras
Moong Dal Halwa It was super dry so without sufficient ghee, the taste always goes for a toss. Additionally it's an item to be served hot or lukewarm whereas this was room temperature so made it very dry to even eat it
Vegetables Paneer sabji - this possibly was the only palatable item Aloo sabji - It was potato, green vatana (it wasn't even green peas bit the pulses) Tendli and Moong - I have never eaten such vegetables in a thali at any place till date
Roti and Puri The Roti's were thick and cold Puri was hard...even after we requesting for puffed puris we got only a sub standard one
Dal and Kadi Thankfully they got this right...else it would have been a disaster but then you don't go to have a thali for dal and Kadi
Farsan Dhokla was strictly average The fried farsan seemed cooked in over heated oil as it was all dark red and heated on high flame
Salad Had only cucumber and tomato. Cucumber had large seeds and chopped into big pieces
Service - Poor Had to call for farsan 2 times, had to wait for Roti's to be served which were not hot
Overall a real poor experience and wouldn't recommend this at all.
Other Thali places like Rajdhani, Golden Star, Samrat...
