Good place, hard working service staff that will make your dining quick and comfortable. They don't talk, they just do things which I like the most. They're bloody brilliant, quick & efficient!!! Food is very tasty, nice and spicy and NOT too heavy on the wallet.
I appreciate the portion sizes offered by this restaurant. Its my fav. dinner spot since past 5 years. I love the Palak Paneer here which is a delicasy, a must try for vegetarians!!! I love the quality of paneer which is really outstanding.
Superb meat Choices as well right from starters to the main course. The menu is crisp and not too elaborate so easy to make quick choices.
I wouldn't recommend the Machli Amritsari from here. The batter of the fish is very nice, crisp & tasty however, they don't use Surmai or Rawas. The fish they use for frying (I think its Basa) is pretty tasteless. But the Punjabi fish curry is well made and enjoyable.
Overall a great place to have dinner.
ATTENTION :- This is NOT a high class, Air conditioned restaurant so don't keep any false expectations. But the food quality is as good as any high class restaurant. It is generally crowded between 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM and barely any space to move around. Between this time, you will find a queue / ppl waiting for their turn to be seated. So ensure that if you hate queues or waiting too long, you reach by 7:30 - 7:45 ish.
They have managed to offer a western toilet which can be used by both, men & women. Cleanliness is fairly standard, possible scope of improvement. But at least it is never smelly! So you can even go with your family and not be worried whether the toilet is alright to be accessed by ladies or not?!
So this place basically caters to every occasion and company. Friends, families, couples .... just enjoy your food! Place is clean and friendly with amazing aromas emerging out of their kitchen & very hard working staff that will make your dining a...
Read moreIf you had to ask me which restaurant would go to everyday, it would hands down be Jai Jawan. Such good food! And yummilicious! The fried fish is flaky and so perfectly cooked. And the prawns are soooo yum and juicy! Especially once they get a little sprinkle of chaat masala/aamchur masala. Also that onion and mint chutney is downright illegal. They should bottle it up and sell it. They'll make a billion bucks, that's for certain. We also ordered their Watermelon Mojito and Punjabi Lassi to wash everything down and they were so great just by themselves. Although just a warning, the glasses are HUGE so be prepared to go to the bathroom a couple of times. My advice would be to share it with someone else. I usually come here for the fish but we tried Chicken Bhanjara Kebabs. It was succulent and really good. The size of the pieces made me happy too. For mains, we ordered Chicken Biryani which is a win as always and Paneer Bhurji. Just FYI their paneer and lassi is the BOMB! and they use fried onions in their Paneer Bhurji which just adds on to the flavor a 100 fold. Finally, in the little space that we had left, we ordered dessert. Matka Rabdi, Chocolate Mousse and Caramel Custard. They're were all great and it made me crave more sweet even though we were all extremely full but then. Don't overthink. Just go to Jai Jawan, you won't be disappointed. Also, now that they have taken over the place next door, you won't even have to...
Read moreI went to eat at Jai Jawan after a long time, the last I ate was at the Jai Jawan Linking road outlet, where I got to park my car and was served food inside my car, this time I went to the outlet at Khar Pali road which is like a small resturant, I ordered Chicken Tandoori, Mutton Sheekh Kebab, Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani. Chicken Tandoori was good the masalas coating the chicken perfectly, balanced flavour, chicken cooked properly not charred loved it, but Mutton Sheek kebab was a disappointment, the texture was hard, it was very dry I had to wet it with lime juice because I wasn't able to gulp it down after chewing, wasn't flavourful at all. Butter Chicken was a bigger disappointment, it was just shredded chicken in tomato 🍅 and cream, flat absolutely flat, did not expect this from Jai Jawan and that too for a simple flavourful dish like butter chicken, chicken biryani was like a nail in the coffin of disasters chicken uncooked and basmati rice just tossed in some gravy was their chicken biryani. I couldn't review the fish as it's rainy season and you get fresh fishes only after Nariyal Purnima or say After Rakshabandhan. But Jai Jawan was a total Dissapoinment for me, I would never go back or suggest anyone, I have eaten the best at Jai Jawan once upon a time, either the owners have made too much money and now they are not interested and or the attitude is ye he hai khana...
