This is a small Old Parsi Cafe located in Mahim (Dadar area) the place is very well known for its breakfast 🍳 and snacks 🥨, it's exactly on signal 🚦 this people often visit here for 🍵 Tea/ Coffee ☕. The drawback about the cafe is that they strictly accept only Cash 💰 and no other payment mode. Further, the cafe is small and bit conjusted and tables are small 🪑. The staff are also less trained regarding etiquettes and all but they are well versed about the menu 📖 that's what impressed me.
We wanted to try Mutton Keema Pav and there chicken 🍗 cutlet (which was the turn off for me) but the Keema was amazing, I even took one for home 🏡. I won't recommend Chicken cutlet (as it's fully fried and covered with egg yolk so it consumes more oil 🛢️ ). There are lots of Parsi dishes 🍽️ which you can explore, I wanted to try the main course but I was full so I have decided I'll visit once again.
One more thing, the owner is really nice and once you go for the bill 💵 payment he will definitely make you talk to him.
Parking is a difficult task it's exactly on signal 🚥 you have to find a road side parking which is not available and you can't leave your vehicle on the road side as it's a busy road.
There is no AC nothing is available, but the fan is very fast. I won't recommend visiting...

As soon as you step in, the retro charm of this establishment transports you to a simpler time. The décor features vintage tiles, old-fashioned furniture, and framed photographs that evoke a sense of history and warmth.
The menu is a delightful blend of traditional Irani favorites and quintessential Mumbai snacks. The chai, often considered the star of any Irani café, is robust and aromatic, complemented perfectly by an array of freshly baked bun maska and khari biscuits. The café's kheema pav and chai are particularly noteworthy, embodying the essence of hearty, comforting food that Irani cafés are celebrated for. The only problem is parking. You have to manage your park at your own.
Service at Light of Bharat is efficient and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. While the space might be compact, it adds to the charm and homeliness of the place.
In terms of pricing, Light of Bharat is quite reasonable, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a...
Read moreThis charming old-style Parsi restaurant exudes a delightful 80s vibe. It’s a small, no-frills eatery — no fancy décor or modern theme — yet it instantly transports you back in time with its nostalgic ambiance.
Food: The menu offers a wide range of options, from authentic Irani dishes to biryanis, burgers, and even Chinese fare. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (Boneless) along with Irani Tandoori Roti and Pallonji’s cold drinks (Strawberry and Ginger). The food was outstanding — the chicken was tender, and the gravy had a beautifully balanced blend of flavors. The roti was soft and complemented the chicken tikka perfectly.
However, the beverages were a bit of a letdown. The strawberry drink tasted overly syrupy, while the ginger one had a very strong aftertaste that overpowered the palate.
Service: The staff was friendly and prompt, adding to the pleasant dining experience.
Overall: A cozy, nostalgic spot serving delicious food that captures the essence of old Bombay. Perfect for anyone craving authentic flavors and a touch of vintage charm.
Note: Only cash payments...
