This pure veg family restaurant, nestled in the heart of Dadar, is a culinary haven for those who appreciate authentic Maharashtrian, South Indian, North Indian, and Desi Chinese cuisine—all served with a generous side of flavor and quality.
Food Quality and Taste: A Delightful Surprise The moment you take your first bite at Apoorva, you’ll understand why it’s a local favorite. The food quality here is impeccable, from the freshest ingredients to the skilled preparation. Every dish, whether it’s the spicy Pav Bhaji, the creamy Butter Paneer Masala, the crisp and savory Dosas, or the perfectly spiced Hakka Noodles, bursts with authentic flavors. The South Indian offerings, in particular, are a standout, with sambar that tastes like it’s straight out of a traditional kitchen and dosas that are golden, crispy, and oh-so-satisfying.
Apoorva has mastered the art of balancing taste with health, ensuring that the food is not just tasty but also light on the stomach, making it ideal for regular visits. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, the varied menu has something to please every palate.
Ambiance: Choices for Every Mood. Apoorva offers three distinct seating options, catering to different preferences: Roadside Open Seats: Perfect for those who enjoy dining al fresco, these seats give you a lively view of the bustling streets of Dadar. It's a great choice if you love people-watching while enjoying your meal. I love sitting here during Monsoon. Non-AC Inside Restaurant: For a more traditional dining experience, the non-AC section offers a cozy, no-frills environment where you can focus on the food and conversation. AC Seats Inside Restaurant: If you’re looking to beat the heat, the AC section provides a comfortable and cool respite from the Mumbai sun.
However, the seating area here can feel a bit cramped, so it’s best for smaller groups.
While the ambiance is simple and straightforward, it’s the food that truly shines at Apoorva. The seating might be cumbersome, especially during peak hours, but the culinary experience more than makes up for it.
Parking: A Word of Caution One thing to note: if you’re planning to drive, parking can be a challenge. Roadside parking is notoriously difficult in this busy area, so it’s wise to avoid bringing a car if possible. Opt for public transport or a quick Taxi ride to save yourself the hassle.
Location: A Convenient Spot in Dadar Apoorva’s location is another big plus. Situated close to major landmarks like Shivaji Park, Dadar Beach, Sushrusha Hospital, and Ranade Road, it’s easily accessible whether you’re out for a stroll, visiting a friend, or just exploring the neighborhood. Despite being in such a prime area, Apoorva maintains its reputation as one of the best budget-friendly restaurants around.

I've had visited this restaurant for snacks earlier but I finally had dinner at this place yesterday. There is an AC and a Non-AC section along with a non-AC open sub-section. From the outside, this place looks like a small place with just two rooms but when you enter the AC section you come to know that this place is surprising large. The non-AC section might have been a little uncomfortable due to proximity to the kitchen and the chaos around and hence we opted for the AC section. We got a tabe at the farest end of the restaurant and we had to pass through nearly 3-4 doors from the entrance to get there. So we went in a group and the place we seated in was a closed well air-conditioned table giving a feel of a private dinner. Not exactly a bad thing but the cranked up space made it impossible for the restaurant staff to serve. Also I noticed that they could open the wooden partition to convert it into a larger room but didn't do so avoiding the chaos from other tables around. But I looked around other tables and noticed that the restaurant had good seating arrangements. The menu had a variety of options. The regular South-Indian and Mumbai snacks, Chinese and North-Indian cuisine was in the menu. We opted for North-Indian meal. From starters to main course, everything was delicious. After having meals from various casual dining restaurants, this was surprisingly a different taste which I really liked. The rotis were served hot and soft. My favorites at the meal were Malai Seek Kebab in starters and Veg Do Aba in main course. I've also had Chinese and South-Indian snacks here before which were quite good too. Altogether a great dining experience and I would totally recommend...
Read moreSo I like spicy rice, and being vegetarian, I have to get go by having veg biryani. Yesterday, when I went to this restaurant, out of their 1000+ odd dishes I selected Kolhapuri Biryani, Hyderabadi Biryani and Mutka Biryani and asked the server for the most spicy one. They recommended "Kolhapuri Biryani". Seemed sus to me as I had never heard this name in my long pursuit of spicy rice, yet feeling daring, I said let's go ahead. I waited for some time, and food came. But alas! It was of my friends who had ordered later than me. I thought "chalta hai, maybe they don't get this order very often so they might be starting from zero". But bhai friends ki plates halki hui jaa rahi thi and mere khaane ka koi ata pata hi nahi tha. Someone even said "basmati bana raha hai ki uga raha hai". Around 30 minutes after I had given my order, my friends' plates were empty and their stomaches full. It was at that fateful moment, the server brought forth this abomination that they called "Kolhapuri Biryani". And man it was disgusting! Bhai ne chawal ke upar apple and pineapple ke pieces and and above that Jam and above that grated cheese daala tha 🤮🤮🤮. Yaha teekha chawal maanga tha and yeh mila uske naam pe. Chef ka Hague mein trial...
