Food - 7/10 Service - 8/10 Ambiance - 9/10 VFM - 10/10 What stands out - The view of Chowpatty beach I went here on a weeknight with my friend to have the thali. This place is one of the oldest and I have been here plenty of times. the place is sea facing overlooking the beach. they have valet and pretty easily accessible. The ambiance is royal and seating is very comfortable. they have a seperate menu for pet dogs which is pretty unique. So they have an a la carte menu and thali which is unlimited. We opted for the thali. The thali is very reasonably priced in my opinion. The thali they have is actually a pan indian thali with a little more Gujarati touch to it. They had a good mix of dishes and well balanced flavours. There is something for every palat. Thali had all of the following 1. Four vegetables of which one was Punjabi Chhole one was a south Indian style vegetable one potato gravy vegetable and one was cabbage. They were all good but nothing exceptional. 2. One sweet Gujarati dal, one was dal fry, one Gujarati sweet kadhi and one was Rajasthani spicy kadhi. Except for the Rajasthani kadhi, rest of the three were pretty average. 3. Three indian breads. one was fulka with ghee (my favourite) next was puri again great third one was kind of thepla but I am not sure. Irrespective it was good 4. Three farsan one was khasta kachori which was exceptional and other was a pattice of sorts and great too. The next one was Ghugra again a Gujarati preparation but loved it. 5. Three sweets one was Gulab Jamun which was very tasty but was tad bit hard. Second was Aam Ras which was great. loved the ras. Third was shrikhand again amazingly made. All in all loved the dessert. All in all this is a great family place to have the thali.

Located right opposite Girgaum Chowpatty, a prime location in South Mumbai, Revival restaurant has been around for 90 years now! Entering this place, we were absolutely mesmerized with the gorgeous and breath-taking view of the beach as well as the traffic passing by. While they do have an a la carte menu, they specialize in an extremely delicious Pan-Indian thali serving dishes from all around India. Well, it is literally India on a plate! The thali consists of a whooping 44 elements including the pickles, chutneys and papads. What makes this thali even more special is the fact that they use ayurvedic techniques and ingredients while preparing the food, in fact, even the cutlery is made from a metal called ‘kansa’ which aids in the digestion of foods and is beneficial to your health. Their signature revival golden thali is an unlimited “all you can eat” vegetarian thali you get to indulge in 3 farsans, 4 vegetable preparations, 4 Daals/Kadhis (Sweet and Savoury versions), pickles, pappadum, chutneys and your choice of a dessert from three options. Well, we just couldn’t wait to get started. Trust us when we say that this was the BEST thali we have tried till date. It was wholesome, healthy and we felt so light after the thali. Lets just say two hardcore non- vegetarians didn’t really miss the meat here, rather enjoyed and savoured every dish. The best part, their dishes keep changing from day to day, so if you visit this place for a week in a row, you’ll get to try a variety of dishes from around India. The thali is surely WORTH EVERY PENNY. We left with a promise of coming back for more, very soon… Until next time! #TerrificThaliTales

Heard about this place for its authentic flavours especially for the gujrati cuisine so thought of giving it a try. Situated just opposite to girgaum chowpatty. They have a varied menu, and good amount of options to choose from. The ambience is great with the chandeliers and adequate spacing with comfortable seating arrangements with the view of girgaum chowpatty. We started with the quirky mocktails Peach with mint : has 3 layers one with peach flavour, the middle part is more of soda and on top it's minty. Frozen Paan margarita : This again is a classy mocktail with a paan punch combined with mint flavour. Then the main part for which I visited this restro Bhindi Rajasthani - fried bhindi which was thankfully not oily. Perfectly crisp with the thick raita. A must try. Paneer Achaari - paneer was roasted with the marination served with mint chutney. Rumali zone - blanched spinach with paneer, capsicum all stuffed in the roomali roti and drizzled with the mayo. Paneer khada masala- I loved it with the garlic naan with right amount of spices in it and fresh paneer. Chulhe ki sabji - again a unique dish which I tried which was served in pressure cooker with a piece of coal which surely gave a smoky flavour to it. A must try. Chilman Biryani - loaded with veggies and paneer compared to the rice. A must try. For dessert we had, Bharva gulab jamun which were bit bigger in size was stuffed with dry fruits. Kulfi - was good Sizzling brownie in which the brownie is vegan with loads of walnuts in it. Overall rating - 5/5 Polite staff with good ambience and will surely visit again for the bhindi, chulhe ki sabji and desserts.

Location: Opp. Girgaon Chowpatty, Near to Charni Road Station

Revival is one of the oldest restaurants in South Mumbai known for being located right opp. Girgaon Chowpatty Beach giving a pleasant view of Beach while having food.

The ambience of the place is simple and spaced out. Make sure you get the corner tables to enjoy the beautiful view of the Beach.

Visited them on a Sunday and as it's usual it was jam packed. They have introduced a Thali claiming to serve 44 items most of them made with Ayurvedic techniques and giving the touch of old methods of preparing food. This makes you feel light even after devouring so many items on the plate.

I was being told that the Thali consists of 44 different items however I was merely served 16 items.

Welcome Drink Tulsi Water Green Chutney Sweet Chutney Murabba Chhunda Lime Wedges Pickle Onion Rings Green Chilly Raita/Salad Papad Buttermilk Smoked Chaas Green Vegetables Potato Vegetables Green Vegetable (2) Lentil Gujarati Dal Teekha Dal Gujarati Kadhi Spicy Kadhi Steamed Rice Pulao Rice Khichdi Fried Farsan Steamed Farsan Chaat Farsan Sweet (Cold) Sweet (Hot) Special Sweet Special Roti Fulka Roti Thepla Roti Paan Flax Seeds Variyali Ghee Sambhar Masala Coconut Chutney Garlic Chutney Jaggery White Butter Fried Chilly

They didn't serve so many of the mentioned items as promised which made me very disappointed. They claimed the Thali is all about the experience and enjoying the beautiful and soothing taste of each and every item meaning and satisfying something for each and everyone's palate.

Another disappointing thing was that you cannot choose all the 3 desserts, you can just select 1 of them. Even though the Thali is "UNLIMITED" it doesn't include Dessert.

Even though I had such a disappointing experience with the Thali, there were few items which I really really LOVED. The Mango Kadhi was something really different and unique which I had never tried. The tangy yet sweet flavours just won my heart. The simple Khichadi was made perfectly and was served with ghee giving it an amazing taste. One of the Dessert consisted of Shrikhand mixed with different fruits like Mango, Apple, and Pomegranate Seeds & curd. If you wanna try something different then go for this Dessert.

Note: The items of the Thali are changed every 15 days. So you might be served different items than what is mentioned above.

I have always been wanting to visiting this legendary place. But the service failed to fulfill what we were promised beginning of our meal.

PS: If you are planning to visit on Sunday make sure you book a table.

Revival is one of the oldest restaurants in south mumbai which serves a thali which consists of food from all around india, catering all the families. This place has a beautiful view of the beach as well.

The thali here is curated in such a way that it brings all the importance of ayurveda on your plate, this helps you feel light and not bloated after the meal. They also provide you with a tulsi water to activate your palate before the meal.

I was informed that I would be served with 44 different items, that made me super excited and I was looking forward to try each and every item. Below mentioned are the 44 items and I wasn't served around 16 of those items, meaning 36% of the thali wasn't served to me.

Welcome Drink ❌ Water ✔ Green Chutney ✔ Sweet Chutney ✔ Murabba ❌ Chhunda ✔ Lime Wedges ❌ Pickle ✔ Onion Rings ✔ Green Chilly ❌ Raita/Salad ❌ Papad ❌ Buttermilk ✔ Smoked Chaas ❌ Green Vegetables ✔ Potato Vegetables ✔ Green Vegetable 2 ✔ Lentil ✔ Gujarati Dal ✔ Teekha Dal ✔ Gujarati Kadhi ✔ Spicy Kadhi ✔ Steamed Rice ✔ Pulao Rice ✔ Khichdi ✔ Fried Farsan ✔ Steamed Farsan ✔ Chaat Farsan ✔ Sweet - Cold ✔ Sweet - Hot ✔ Special Sweet ✔ Special Roti ✔ Fulka Roti ❌ Thepla Roti ✔ Paan ❌ Flax Seeds ❌ Variyali ❌ Ghee ✔ Sambhar Masala ❌ Coconut Chutney ✔ Garlic Chutney ❌ Jaggery ❌ White Butter ❌ Fried Chilly ❌

They said that the sundays are the busiest but, if the restaurant cannot deliver as promised then there is no point saying proudly that they serve 44 ITEMS. At the end of the day the customer pays for the experience of 44 items.

Apart from that from 44 items 3 are sweets and you cannot have all the THREE, you can just select ONE of them. So technically they are just serving 41 Items on a plate. This turns out to be a marketing gimmick.

No doubt I have loved some of their dishes, and there are many must trys here. I will list all of them below. One of them is Mango Kadhi, god this was one of the best kadhi I have had till date. A Gujarati Kadhi which has a Mango flavor in it.

The Moong Dal Khichadi is also a old school but trust me with Ghee the taste is out of this world & if you add any of the Kadhi to it the flavor just goes to the next level.

The Shrikhand served here was mixed with different fruits like Mango, Apple, and Pomegranate Seeds is another Must Try.

This being one of the oldest places in Mumbai, already makes it legendary. I would suggest them to focus on improving their service and making sure the all the customers get what is...

▪Revival is one of those old places in south mumbai which serves a gigantic thali catering to family audience. Revival has the most renown place of mumbai with mesmerising view of arabian sea through the glass window.

▪ Revival is different from other places which serves thali as they use all ayurveda ingredients in all of their item which helps you stay unharm from on of the dishes and also helps you cleaning your stomach.

-About the service:- ▪Service is a major issue as we visited this place on sunday afternoon for lunch. The place claims to have 44 items in the thali including all the sliders like onion, lemon, pickle, etc. But they skipped out on more then 10 items from thali that day due to lack of preparation and that is a big issue as they have promised their customer a certain amount of dishes to be served.

▪ There is a catch in list of 44 items, they have total 3 options in sweets but you're only allowed to order just one of them but other 2 sweets are included in that list which  something they should avoid as it is misleading to number of items.

-About the food:- ▪Here is the list of 44 items which the suppose to serves but they were unable to give around 18 items:-

Welcome Drink ❌ Water ✔ Green Chutney ✔ Sweet Chutney ✔ Murabba ❌ Chhunda ✔ Lime Wedges ❌ Pickle ✔ Onion Rings ❌ Green Chilly ❌ Raita/Salad ❌ Papad ❌ Butter Milk ✔ Smoked Chaas ❌ Green Vegetables ✔ Potato Vegetables ✔ Green Vegetable 2 ✔ Lentil ❌ Gujarati Dal ✔ Teekha Dal ✔ Gujarati Kadhi ✔ Spicy Kadhi ✔ Steamed Rice ✔ Pulao Rice ✔ Khichdi ✔ Fried Farsan ✔ Steamed Farsan ✔ Chaat Farsan ✔ Sweet - Cold ✔ Sweet - Hot ✔ Special Sweet ✔ Special Roti ✔ Fulka Roti ❌ Thepla Roti ✔ Paan ❌ Flax Seeds ❌ Variyali ❌ Ghee ✔ Sambharia Masala ❌ Coconut Chutney ✔ Garlic Chutney ❌ Jaggery ❌ White Butter ❌ Fried Chilly ❌

So the reason behind skipping out so many dishes was that they told us being a busy sunday they weren't able to give a proper attention and service which is totally unacceptable, as one can delay the food but skipping out on dishes is something the restaurant to learn to avoid.

Taste:- 3 Service:-2 Ambiance:- 3.5 Value...
