Soul Restraunt is a very soothing, calm place that serves selected fare right upto your platter. The menu is divided between good indian food and really interesting Asian Cuisines.
So let's begin our review.
For the lazy ones, here's a quick preview
Let's begin my detailed analysis of the place.
Ambience - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I must say the place really touches your soul. The calm interiors ensures that serves as a great family dinner time. I would not call this a gossipmongers paradise as it's more a fine dine. The place can comfortably seat a huge family or just a table of four. Take your pick and your seat.
Service - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The services was excellent. It was prompt and we were well attended to. The server also provided us with great suggestions for our drinks.
Drinks -⭐⭐⭐⭐ They have a good collection of alcohols and can work up a great fare. However we were only served mocktails, so can't comment on the drinks.
White kiss - White kiss is a mix of watermelon juice and some lychee juice. It was my first combo and really like this pairing. The watermelon gives you that freshness, while the lychee works on the after taste. Great combo.
Guvava Mary - This drinks needs no introduction. Good old Guvava Jucie mixed with a hint is Tabasco and served with a salted rind glass. I love Guvava juice so this was really good.
#Virgin MOJITO - Again this needs no introduction. Simple old Biting Mojito womithout the vodka effect.
Pink lady -. A pink syrup based drink served with sprite. Again an average fare
#Crab meat soup - Good mild soup with crabmeat. The saltyness of the crab and the soya made it great. The soup did miss some finess, line I could feel the crab shells as if they had not be cleaned very well.
#Pomfret Lahasa - An Asian inspired strip fried fish with a good sauce. Like it
#Thai Kebab -. When the indian tandoor visited Thailand. This was a Marraige between two worlds. The chicken thighs fillets marinated with Thai curry paste and then dunked in the tandoor. The tandoor adds that smokiness , while the lemon grass reminds you of Thailand. Loved it!! 👍👍
#Tangdi Kulfi - Well I was a little dissapointed with this. The discription mentioned that the entire tandoor leg is cooked a d dunked in a cashew sauce replicating the kulfi effect. But I was served a kebabs that had cheese stuffing. This was a thigh fillet stuffed with minced meat and grilled with mozerrlla cheese in it. It was ok...
Lamb chilli garlic - Again you should like lamb in an Asian Sauce. Lamb chunks stir fried with an Asian hosin sauce and served with chunks of veggies. It's a good starter.
Rhara Gosht - Rhara Gosht is a great Indian style lamb dish cooked in a Mughlai style curry. So basically the curry had minced meat in it along with Chuck's of lamb. So it had both the flavours of Kheema and Mutton . Great
Garlic naan - A some naan with loooots of garlic . Combined very well with the ghost.
Mongolian pot rice - I love this style of rice. It more homeade with the curry on top and the rice below. After the heavy ghost, thisild curry rice was great.
Pineapple raita - chunks of pineapple dunked in dahi with some salt a sugar Made this good.
Gulab Jamun - Homemade rustic Gulab Jamun. It was very sweet for my liking.
Caramel Custard - This was those cornflour based custard set in a bowl. Not bad but not exactly a caramel custard.
Overall - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
As I said the food was good but not something I haven't tried before. The place is inviting and relaxing. If you are too lazy to select from the menu, the opt for thier buffet system. Overall a good experience.
Recommendations.

Read moreBeyond Mumbai's renowned night life and street food, hidden gems like Soul effortlessly blend the city's best cuisines with modern inventive comfort food classics. The restaurant itself is inhouse at the Oriental Residency, Khar which is extremely accessible from the station and all the main roads.
It's on the first floor of the hotel and is not too fancy with it's ambiance. Seating is neat and comfortable with a lot of mirrors. Staff is super welcoming, attentive and always serve you with a smile.
The bar is neatly tucked away on one side and the lighting is apt. They offer mocktails, cocktails as well as straight drinks. Bartender, Mr. Pawan was very cordial and asked for our preferences before making the drinks. The mocktails were just too good combining a lot of flavours and were insanely photo worthy ! Blueberry Blast, Mango Orange Fusion, Pineapple Cream, Lychee Passion were our favourites.
In terms of food, the a-la-carte menu is full of Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes. We went for the buffet and the spread was equally good. It had everything from chaat, salads and soups to appetizers, mains and desserts. Lot's of options to choose and a variety of cuisines including some of their special dishes, their buffet is surely not to be missed.
We started off with chaat such as Sev Puri and Chinese Bhel followed by two types of soups. Best of the lot were
Malai Ginger Paneer, Hara Bhara Kebab, Fish Hyderabadi Fry, Double Decker Kebab, Subji Falguni, Chicken Hara Masala, Dhabha Gosht, Triple Schezwan, Moong Dal Halwa and Caramel Custard.
Other starters included Schezwan Paneer, Chicken Lollipop and Crispy Corn which were just scrumptious. They also have options for mains such as Jeera rice and Dal Tadka for Indian food lovers. Desserts also include Gulab Jamun and Ice creams for a hearty end.
The ambiance is perfect for small groups or large number of people and has two different sections. Food and mocktails are beautifully presented with fresh ingredients. The manager of the restaurant, Mr. Balraj went out of his way to take care of us which really made us feel special. You can ask for repeat orders and they won't hesitate one bit before bringing it to your table. The price point is bang for buck for their offerings and you'll leave thinking it was definitely worth it !
To sum it up, I truly believe Soul is one of those hidden gems that needs to be explored by everyone and just needs that push to be one of the mainstream. With top notch food and one of the best customer service we've experienced in recent memory, had an amazing time. Will visit again for sure and will...
