Rating: ā ā ā ā ā (5/5) Visited: Regularly on weekends when in Bombay, to start the night Location: The Den, Khar West, Mumbai Reviewer: Priyank Goswami
The Den in Khar West has become my ritual starting point every time Iām in Bombay. Whether itās a Friday warm-up or a full-on Saturday night, the place never misses.
šø Great Cocktails & Even Better Vibes The drinks are always on pointāwell-balanced, strong (in the best way), and made with care. Prashant, the bartender, deserves a special shoutoutānot just for his mixing skills, but for that welcoming smile he greets regulars with. Thereās a sense of familiarity that makes you feel like youāre exactly where you should be.
š¶ Atmosphere The music, the people, the energyāThe Den has that unpretentious cool factor. You can start your night here with a cocktail or end it on the dance floor. It adapts to your vibe, which is rare.
š„ Staff & Crowd The staff is efficient and genuinely friendly. It draws a great mix of peopleālaid-back, open, and looking for a good time. Youāll often spot familiar faces, and it never feels forced or overly curated.
š¬ Final Thoughts "The Den, Khar West, is always my first stop when Iām back in the city. From the cocktails to the comfort of being a known face, and the vibe that kicks in as the night unfoldsāthis place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Den in Khar is a groovy bar and resto with nice music and vibey lighting. Although it's not a big place, there's good seating with comfortable furniture. I enjoyed the ambience of The Den among the other plus points.
The food at The Den was also interesting. Multiple cuisines, and each prepared well with good tender meat and seasoned to perfection. While the food is slightly pricey for its quantity, it's still reasonable by Mumbai standards. Especially owing to the quality.
However, the major problem that I had was with the service. We waited for an abnormally long period of time and when the server finally came he was rather rude and dismissive. It was not the best experience especially since he kept asking for ID everytime we ordered a drink.
The crowd is quite maniacal I would say. Not exactly unruly but more on the end that is cringe while being loud. Again not the best experience that I've had in a resto-bar. The toilets were also rather unclean and could be improved.
Hoping these pointers will be taken into consideration. Will go from a good location for drinks and food and elevate it into a proper...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was surprised I missed such an interesting place in my life of so many years in Mumbai! I had an interesting weekend with friends here. We ordered for beer, fries, meat & nachos. All dishes were served warm, fresh & crunchy. Their beer too was crisp and chilled. Their bar stools have legs. So when people are sitting on it the view is hilarious - a brown man with a white womans legs (no offence meant). There was a gentleman in jeans, linen shirt & Kolhapuri jootis that night. He danced his heart away on the small floor in front of the bar. A lady was out on a date with another gentleman - boy was she one unhappy lady. Nothing seemed to make her comfortable. Although I failed to understand why? Because for me the place is GOOD. They helped me with parking and finding the keypad to my car keys. Imagine the owner himself did it! Why am I talking about random people at a bar? Because thatās an occupational hazard. I am a writer and comic in the making. Yes please go here itās a lively place. Definitely was on the weekend...
