Zante — Restaurant in Mumbai

What a delight to find! Like an oasis in the desert or a drink for a thirsty camel! Nothing feels better than delicious, healthy, clean food…..except when of course it’s so tasty you keep forgetting to take photos! But because you want others to find this absolute gem in the rock pile you need to soldier on, even if you ate most of the evidence! Whenever you are in Mumbai, for whatever reason, grab yourself a tuk tuk and get to Zante on Linking Road, Khar West, around 352, for your morning coffee, your breakfast, your lunch, afternoon drinks and of course dinner! Yum Yum Yum! The chef is a magician! So many delicious dishes that it’s difficult to choose a favourite…salmon, sticky ribs…Golden Mango Bowl….the pastries from the pastry chef where better than I had at another 5 star hotel near by who serves high tea, won’t name names but if you want to have a delicious delightful meal in the middle of Mumbai, come to Zante! They have Indian, Korean, Pasta, a Thai style burger, fish, ethnic lamb for the Rogan Josh, Dirty Tacos….ohh the Dirty Tacos…. Hmmm too much to choose! The staff are friendly and in your face, at a distance, the smile and welcoming warmth is in your face in a very very good way! You want to “have a chat” because they are so delightful! I had an outstanding time while in Mumbai. I stayed in a very nice boutique hotel, Bawa Suites. Attached to the hotel was a lovely cafe Zanti. Coming from the US it was more difficult to the food I needed than I thought. I came to Mumbai for some extensive dental work which made eating all the more challenging. Zante made a huge difference, the fresh and healthy choices reminded me of home and the unique blend of traditional Indian choices with original gormet creations, I ate here at least once a day. Not counting the fresh hot breakfast every day as part of my room package. Great food at a reasonable price.

While the food is fantastic, it was the service that made me feel at home here. The staff greeted me by name after the first day and quickly learned my preferences. I can't say enough great things about the staff with just the right blend of familiarity and professionalism.
