Terrible experience salvaged to some extent towards the end

We visit this restaurant very often for dinner and order food from the menu - not the buffet. Usually the experience is good. However our experience on the night of 21.09.2024 was terrible. I will narrate it: I booked a table via their website using my membership number. When we reached the restaurant, my name was not on the list. However there were tables available so it was not as issue. That said, it seems that the system is not synchronized. Thereafter, the service was very bad - I DO not blame the waiters. They are nice men who serve us often - however they were overworked because there were hardly any of them. There were more managerial type people in black suits than waiters. [3 or 4 times as many] The priority for the restaurant appeared to be the people accessing the buffet – which is fine. However this included serving them many things on the table. The complimentary bread served to us was of room temperature and lacked freshness. It was replaced after a lot of delay. The waiters were very busy, so they were slow in changing/providing cutlery and clearance between courses. It took a long time for them to bring a simple thing as chili flakes. There was absolutely no coordination between different people at the restaurant. Ultimately I had to raise my voice and complain - after which the service improved and I was even given a discount – which I am grateful for. However the entire experience was below average and shameful considering that they have an international brand - I have stayed at a Novotel abroad as well and am aware of the reputation of this brand. They need to look into staffing at this restaurant. I once again clarify - the waiters are competent and respectful however there is a massive staff shortage and misplaced priorities. The problem is at the restaurant management level or at the...

We were welcomed by Prity who was at the reception. Such a beautiful smile she wears and keeps it intact throughout. We also took help from Rajendra who clicked such an amazing pic 🖼️ for us. Dev, Hritik "a name that inhad to practise to pronunce" Saurav. Trust me these are just few names I recall but everyone from interns to the one who already got their uniform we're amazing at their service. Ambience is MaShaAllah and so is the #food I had four different varieties of Momo "can you beat that" 1 - Beijing style vegetable momo 2 - La Ma vegetable momo 3 - Bird eye smoked chicken & schezwan pepper momo 4 - Barbeque chicken momo And all of them were delicious I also got to try 👉Hokkein Noodle 🍜 👉Mushroom 🍄 Vegetable 🥦🥕🌽 Rice 👉Potato Brava 👉 from the live counter named "purani dilli ki chaat" Tried pani puri, aloo tikki, aloo chaat. It was mouth smacking 🤭 👉the chicken & mutton items in starters were worth to be tried 👉 so were the salads 🥗 😘 👉 one of us tried green tea which was also great and so were the cappuccino served Note: we were there for my sisters birthday. I planned a special dinner with my partner on the occasion of Karwachauth. My sister suggested me to go to this place as his friend is working as a Manager.. His name is Rohit Lohani. As i entered the hotel Rohit sir was there to assist me and they guided us to ur booked table..He was very nice gentleman person with a positive vibe and a smiling face adds to the composure.. He also guided us to the location from where the moon was visible so that we can complete the puja and all rituals as per the festival.. He asked me what would we have for dinner.. i told him that me and my partner both are fasting so we don't want buffet.. so he suggested some veg dishes special without onion and garlic.. He was very supportive and very caring as he himself seved the dishes to us.. The food was so yummy and it tasted like food at home..Puri was so crispy and hot that we just loved each and every bite of the food.. After dinner we asked for some tea..Rohit sir himself made the Tea and the best part was that is was the best of all time..as i m big fan of chai so it was a blessing for me to have such a refreshing tea after fasting for whole day.. One of my best experience of all time. I will definitely come to enjoy the tasty food and super service of the food exchange restaurant. A ***** Star Rating from my 💓.

Like our culture, our cuisine too is diverse and yet have similarities and great influence of surrounding regions. Assamese urban cuisine has influence of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. Tribal cuisine has influence from neighboring counties like Burma, Thailand, and China. Gitika Saikia, the famous home chef from Bombay is doing an Assamese pop up at , Food Exchange, Novotel Pullman New Delhi. The rice flour crepe filled with chicken was outstanding appetizer and I equally enjoyed the boneless Katla fish balls. The star dish of the day was pork cooked with mustard leaves and duck cooked with tribal herbs. Even the masoor dal was outstanding. The entire meal was cooked in mustard oil with local herbs that she got from Assam. This is one festival which you can’t miss. Chef Neeraj Tyagi you have got the Midas touch my friend!. You have already got the ball rolling! #FoodExchangeBuffets #AssameseFoodFest #eatwithshylock #theurbanescapades #DesiConnosseurs #VicMan
