Let’s start with saying that Virat Kohli is a fantastic cricketer and has achieved heights that other people may never be able to even imagine. However, that is not a criteria that anything this guy will do will achieve the same heights. I can very safely say that this restaurant is one of our worst experiences.
Decor - Let’s say there is no decor. We went at night and indoor looks like a shabby place with no real fixtures or anything out of the ordinary. Upstairs place is boring and nothing out of the ordinary again. If you can brave the Delhi cold, feel free to sit outside which looks fine. There are heaters provided which can help you. That’s the best place of this restaurant.
Food - The day we went the waiter informed us that menu had changed the prior day only. Because of that nobody was familiar with the menu nor were half the things available. It’s a variety of things with no real underlying cuisine which is fine. Indian dishes are ok - we tried soya boti kebab, chicken tikka, chilli paneer, some mushroom sushi, Chinese style curry and rice. Literally every Indian type starter comes with a mayo sauce underneath it. I know we all love mayo, but I would ideally like my chicken tikka without it rubbed with mayo already. Put on the side! Overall taste was ok but unfortunately I fell severely sick the next day with really bad stomach pain. My partner fell sick 2 days later with very bad loose motions. So I don’t really care about the taste if that’s the quality of the food.
Service - Once again, the answer here is horrible. As mentioned above, due to change in menu nobody knew what was happening. Half of the things we ordered, were informed after 15 minutes that they are not available and were asked to choose something else. We ordered soft drinks which were never given to us despite asking multiple times. Serving spoons were not given with any dish unless we asked. Cutlery was not enough in the table. Even dishes were provided for half the table. Even worse, when we asked for our bill we were charged for all the items they said are not available, all the dishes we ordered as replacement and the soft drinks we were not served. It took us three times to get the bill right.
Hope people read this and hopefully the owners and managers read this too. This requires a lot of work and just the name of a cricketer is unfortunately not enough to get this restaurant to be the quality it should be.
Absolute no no recommendation to anyone...
Read moreAbsolute disappointment from all fronts...we ordered one beer and chicken tikka, and it took them 10 minutes to get a beer when we were seated just adjacent to bar..and when he finally got it..it was just the bottle, when we were expecting a frosted pilsner along with it..
Chicken tikka took 35 minutes approximately and wasn't appealing due to it tiny 6 pieces with no lachha onions as its natural accompaniment.
Then the service is a different ordeal to narrate..no spoons no knives placed ..we had asked for it.. chutney bowl was devoid of teaspoon so we poured it - first time I did it. Taste was passable.
We then decided to take a quick tour of the restaurant and by the time we made it back, my Boss's beer vanished when it was still left with some of it. For the main course we ordered chicken curry and rotis and to our surprise we were served butter chicken..and as expected it came into a Demi tasse bowl ..so rates were inversely proptional to the quantity there..
The server then just dumped it on the table and we were expecting him to serve the two of us...but was a false alarm..we helped ourselves...then we called the server for cutlery.... and the plate was somewhere between dinner plate and side plate...so to have salad, gravy with chicken and rotis on the same plate was like a Rodies Task... choice of water was never asked... when we signalled the server for water, he placed house water without knowing our preference...
Singer was full of verve and sang some of the best scores.. though sound was too much and everytime when u order something u have to test yur vocal cords...
We never expected finger bowls in tht kind of diner...but wet tissues are very much a reality in any plush diner these days..so why not maintaining tht..and we still wonder what we paid service charge for..nutshell...its not even a one timer and give it...
