#ReviewsByAditti 24.05.2018 There dawns that one day in the 365 that warrants a special place to have your celebrations.. ... and when one has to choose from several toffee nosed, oft panegyrized temples of gastronomy, I am now glad that I chose to stoat along a traffic clogged NH 8, to the stately line up of these opulent food places at Aerocity... Yes there were several hot restaurant tips from undisputed culinary queens and kings, so #Kheer became my choice for the day.. Now this one neither looks nor feels like your regular suited curry house. It’s a soothing place to be, much in sync with the dynamics of the Indian dessert, after which it’s named. With every good restaurant, there’s that one key thing that will draw you in at first. Kheer’s initial hook for me was its pedigree... Roseate ! But it takes more than the hook to encourage customers to stay hooked.. .. good food/service is non negotiable. It’s been a while since I have tasted such moreish, vibrant flavours ... and some of the proletarian-sounding dishes ordered turned out to be rather chic. Since we were just two, our food order was rather limited.... also because the sybaritic and joyously generous beverage list worked as an apt starter.. #WhatIAte : Murgh Zameen Doz : The one that could make me a devotee. This humble dish had thickly cut, succulent pieces of chicken leg, velvety from their yoghurt and spice marination, and came cocooned in a light rumali , with some sinus-clearing chutney on the side. 🔝 Lagan Ka Murgh : An awadhi -influenced dish that features a turmeric-deprived chicken in a gentle sauce so creamy and aromatic, it’s a study in luxurious subtlety. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kolhapuri Chicken : This one provided a persuasive contrast to the unabashed richness of the Lagan Ka Murgh and Murgh Zameen Doz. The meat slumps under the fork into a joyful mess, yes, as one hopes to take in the heat of the fiery red gravy but it’s not fiery enough.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food has the mandatory touches of exotica in its presentation as well and the service is surely elevated way beyond expectations. Our suited and cheery server that day could actually moonlight as a mind reader... that good!!! Try as I might, I can only but love the whole chintzy, meretricious shebang, because everything about Kheer is lovely. And because it was that one day in 365, the manager made it special by presenting me with a tiny New York cheesecake. Complimentary. A delish substitute for a birthday cake... and absolutely divine. Ask for it the next time you visit .. Cost for two : 5k+ (minus the drinks) Kheer, Roseate House, Aerocity, New Delhi

“And right before we departed, we had a moment and thats when i knew, how sometimes the most beautiful things in life were meant to be left alone in the end” - R.M Drake. I couldn’t help but reckon on how a beautifully blooming flower is picked for its youth and soon dumped in trash, how any of the historic monuments once seen as milestones of architectural treasures are now left to decay without restoration for minting money and im not even surprised with how easily people leave sniffing out all possible dormant. Has our generation traded the biological wire of attachment for being de-motional ? ‘Kheer’ named after the Sanskrit word ksheer meaning milk, brings exquisite Indian cuisine par excellence teamed with the best street food offering an experience that marries traditional cooking with luxurious fine dining. Designed by Noriyoshi Muramatsu, the restaurant is divided into four prominent areas – the live kitchen with three tandoors, a chaat bar, the dining area, and mixology bar with a whiskey shelf, wine cellar and Beer Island with a chic lounge. Offering a menu prepared by expert chefs, it boasts of an exclusively extravagant menu leaving your taste buds to frenzy. The non- melancholic frenzy began with machhalee, a raw tuna salad sorted well with onions and tomatoes & indianised with kasundi and chatpata crispy fried palak patta chaat with sweet and spicy sauces. From the deepest burning passions of tandoor came along the hari gobhi, marinated broccoli on a bed of tomato chutney, wrapped in roomali cooked in the heart was the chicken leg and new zealand lamb chops marinated ala barra. Entrees as opposed to any cuisine are most lavishly presented in indian. Showcasing the absolute richness of our food journey and united nationalism my thali was full of different states. Whether it was the asafoetida yellow dal tadka, the overnight buttery kaali dal, the Maharashtrian kohlapuri spicy & tangy murghi with saffron milky bread or the zillion flavoured nawabi biryani they equally salivated me. And the cardinal sin of not letting some kheer in your life was omitted with a selection of in house prepared puddings(kheer) sub-letting gil-e-firdaus, bottle gaurd kheer, javvarisi payasam i.e tapioca kheer and ras, jaggery kheer.

Had a very beautiful and serene experience at this place. Located in Aerocity Worldmark 4, this is within the Roseate House on the first floor. Not difficult to locate, just a bit hidden due to its architecture. Took the elevator from the ground floor to reach it. They have a very clean but peculiar ambience of the whole place. You could see the chef preparing all the orders in front of you, though it's a bit in the back, it's all visible, like an open kitchen, live kitchen. Decorated with hung large bells of Hindu temples over one big family table, you'd begin to think that they must serve all vegetarian dishes and certainly no alcohol. But it's quite the contrary, the menu lists some very nice non-veg dishes as well. Though, we didn't have any. Coming on the menu, it is a digital menu, you'd have to scan a QR code sitting on the table to access it and order via QR code as well. So even when you go home, you can still very well access the menu as it stays downloaded on your phone until you delete it. We had ordered their Special Dal and some koftas which turned out to be sweet. With that we had Garlic Naan and Missi Roti which were just yum to pair with it. For dessert, we had Paan Rasmalai. I almost forgot to mention the starters, which one should when writing these reviews. We had Chakundar Chilgoze ki Tikki and a chaat. Although it's one of the most expensive places I've ever been for food, we did enjoy it as we were lucky enough to get some very cool discounts when paying. So that's it. Go out there and have a blast if your wallet permits, that is.

This place is exquisitely designed to host around 250 people at a go, and the decor is as classy as it can get. What makes the ambience so ostentatious are the dark wooden panels, dim lighting, the antique hanging lamps and bells.

The dishes not to be missed here are the street food specialities, The Jalebi Chaat which is quite different, the quinoa Gol Gappas served with a trio of tamarind water and a delicious Palak Patta Chaat, from the starters not to be missed are the apricot and khoya stuffed paneer tikka, the Kasundhi Fish Tikka. The Beetroot and Pine nut Tikki is a star dish from the starter section, it has a deep red colour and a perfect texture with a balanced sweet and sour taste. Also from the starter section, not to be missed is the Machhalee, raw tuna, tomatoes, onion, ginger blended with mustard oil and curry leaf mayonnaise. The variety in the main course is enormous, and everything we tried was super delicious. The pick of the dishes from the main course was the Prawn curry, home-style cooked chicken curry, paneer Kesar-e-pukhtan . Besides all this goodness, the best combination for me was the Dal Makhani paired with the sweet bakarkhani roti. We ended the lunch on a sweet note with a range of desi desserts, the kheer platter is an awesome trio of sabudana kheer, bottle guard kheer and gur (jaggery) kheer. The fruit kulfi , stuffed nicely with fresh fruits was delicious, mildly sweet and creamy in texture.

So if you have not visited Kheer at The roseate, Aerocity yet, do visit and stay assured that the desi food lover in you will leave with a full belly and a smiling face.

Had gone to Kheer for my anniversary once. Really liked it and decided to go again and it was so disappointing that even if there is 50% discount, I will have think about going again.

Date: Oct 17 2023

Pre booking experience

I booked via email. There was no confirmation from Roseate. I called and the guy said Kheer is closed and took details. Mentioned that someone will call to confirm. No call came. I called again to confirm and this time they mentioned that booking is already confirmed. Good but someone should have informed me

Restaurant Experience We were given a corner seating where the lights were also not turned on. It was dark. Overall the restaurant looks great. Environment is top notch. If you sit and push your seat back, you bump into the massive lamps that are there. My friend who is 6ft had to change the seat. We ordered "nimona aur khubaani ke kebab" and "bhune chukandar aur neje ke kebab". "khubani ke kebab" were so dry and bad that we had to return it (our cook at home would make better than this). It was supposed to have apricot in middle and we mistook it for dalmoth(mixure). beetroot kebabs were good (not great). One day ago we had kebabs at WestIn Gurgaon and were far superior. The chef offered "teen khumbh ke galouti" as replacement and I think they were passable. I would not have it again. We ordered "Paneer khushk parda" but it felt like paneer khatta pyaz that has been retrofitted. Paneer was not soft. No one was readily interested in taking orders. One of us had to get up to ask someone to place the order We finished the water, no one came to refill. One of us again took the bottles back to the cleaning counter and someone realized we may need water. Restaurant was barely 50-55% occupied so one can't blame it on the rush as well.

Overall - the experience was as bad as it can get. I had taken a friend of mine to kheer especially to have him try food and I regret it a lot.

If you have a special occassaion, stay away from the place (ironically my anniversary exp was good but I would think before going).

If you still want to go here, I can suggest you eat dal makhani (daal e dunghar) and "bhune chukander aur neje ke kebab" as vegetarian. What I have not tried, I can't tell you anything about so it's upto you.

Update: Oct 20 2023 Kheer contacted me to try the restaurant one more time. I will...
