Dragonfly – A Dragonfly takes flight for only a fraction of its life but that small fraction is full of such vigor that those bright wings let them fly across entire oceans . Dragonfly symbolizes courage, strength, and happiness in Japanese culture .
With that background you can understand why the place is called The Dragonfly Experience – the theme encourages you to live your life to the fullest. The interiors are scintilla-tingly lit with the dragonfly theme repeated throughout from the walls to even the light fixtures to the seats.
This luxurious fine dining restobar has an enchanting ambience, bright pink and yellow colorful wall arts, decorative lights, three separate levels of seating, separate smoking areas and two well stocked bars.
Great for parties and romantic dinners, the music is great too.
Service was attentive and unobtrusive.
The cocktail menu at The Dragonfly Experience has been curated by renowned mixologist, Richard Hargroves and every cocktail is made using house syrups and homemade cordials with each drink being represented by a Japanese Manga Character, the bar menu had illustrations of the Manga on the left hand side and the drinks on the right side pages.
Here is what all we had :
Pikachu –A non-alcoholic drink of Fresh Yuzu and pineapple juice, mixed with dragonfly pineapple cordial, a dash of mint oil and topped with ginger ale quite nice though a bit loaded on sugar.
Lust - The cranberry and apple-infused sake is a glorious addition to the drink, and the rose petals greet your palate with utmost grace. It was a great drink but the presentation could have been more alluring with a name like that.
Charmandar – a thick shake of coconut sorbet, fresh mango, fresh raspberry puree, coconut water and flaxseeds. Very tropical and refreshing!
Avocado and Baby Spinach Salad – I loved it , with cherry tomatoes and a tangy light dressing this one was good.
Sea Bass croquettes – Truffle Aioli on the side did not appeal to me, I feel the croquettes were better served with a hot or sour sauce.
Classic Asparagus Tempura Sushi – tempura Asparagus, avocado sushi was nice but the tempura left a very greasy taste in the mouth and could have been better drained.
Thai Basil Green Curry Dumplings - Quite good in taste and the presentation was good too .
Avocado and cucumber rolls – Avocado and cucumber with Cream cheese Sushi rolls were pretty yum if you love cream cheese a lot.
Peanut Butter Puffsomes – The very flaky and crisp puffs were melt in the mouth , the filling of peanut butter, carrots and shiitake mushrooms was well balanced with the peanut butter adding just a bit of flavor and binding to the carrots and shitake , though I wish there was just a bit more of the filling inside.
I highly recommend this !
Porcini and Cream cheese dimsums’with chili oil – Quite nice but cream cheese dominated the flavors.
For desserts we had :
Tartare of Fruits – Nice and good!
Homemade Artisanal ice-cream – Vanilla,Litchi and Chocolate – Simple delicious and flavorful – must try when visiting Dragonfly Experience.

Read moreWe recently paid visit to one of the most vibrant properties in Aerocity, going by the name of Experience Dragonfly. Right from the entrance the place gives out amazing vibes. The property welcomes you warmly with a bar right at the entrance towards the left and a high ceiling sitting in front. The stairs takes you down to a lower level which has its own dedicated bar with a live DJ and strategic seating arrangements. The place is humongous and the entire décor seems of a hive with even the lights in the shape of bugs and flies. Creepy as it sounds, it looks mesmerizing and allure you to the core.
Still in awe of the place we ended up ordering a series of veg and non-veg items that included morel mushroom spring roll, roasted pecking chicken puffsome, crispy smoked chicken steamed bread, chicken in red curry dumpling, chicken chili oil dumpling, mango avocado ceviche and salmon skin sushi. The food was utterly sumptuous and was presented in a very mannered fashion. Beginning with mushroom spring roll, it had a perfect crisp and despite being deep fried it hardly felt oily. It had an apt filling with thyme dominating the flavor, served with chutney, we really had a great start to our meal. Chicken dumplings in red curry was a nice combination where on a bed of red thai gravy chicken dimsums were placed that carried an essence of the gravy inside them as well. The chili oil version of these were again a delight and our always go to variant in dimsums in an Asian cuisine. We tried ceviche for the very first time and we really loved it. Diced mangoes and avocados sautéed well in mushroom puree was a perfect blend of sweet and sour with its taste remaining on the palate for long. The puffsome were the highlight of the evening with the bread being slight sweet and the filling being of searing spicy minced chicken making us drool all over. The place boasts about serving some of the finest cocktails and we couldn’t just agree more. Our personal favorite was “All Might”.
All in all, the place is beautiful, the food is amazing and the overall vibe would make you come back again and again! Don’t be surprised to find us munching our way to...
