Located in the bustling neighborhood of Viman Nagar in Pune, Retox Restaurant and Bar offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that promises a delightful dining experience. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this establishment, and I must say, it left a lasting impression.
As soon as I stepped into Retox, I was greeted by a stylish and contemporary interior. The modern decor, with its comfortable seating and ambient lighting, created a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant also boasts a well-stocked bar that caught my attention, showcasing an impressive selection of spirits, wines, and creative cocktails.
The menu at Retox is diverse and offers a fusion of global and local flavors. From traditional Indian dishes to international favorites, there was something to suit every palate. As a fan of vegetarian cuisine, I was pleased to find a wide range of vegetarian options available, prepared with great attention to detail.
To start my culinary journey, I opted for the "Retox Bruschetta Platter." It featured a variety of toppings on toasted bread, including classic tomato and basil, creamy mushroom, and tangy olive tapenade. The bruschetta was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was a delightful way to begin the meal.
For the main course, I decided to try the "Retox Special Paneer Tikka Masala." The dish featured succulent pieces of paneer (Indian cottage cheese) cooked in a rich and aromatic tomato-based gravy. The paneer was tender, and the flavors were well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice. It was served with freshly baked naan bread, which was the perfect accompaniment.
The service at Retox was friendly and attentive. The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. They were prompt in taking orders and ensured that all our needs were met throughout the dining experience.
Retox also offers an extensive beverage menu, with an emphasis on handcrafted cocktails and premium spirits. I tried their signature cocktail, the "Retox Mojito," which was a refreshing blend of muddled mint, lime, and rum. It was expertly prepared and served with precision.
One minor area for improvement would be the waiting time for the food to be served, which could have been slightly shorter. However, the quality of the dishes made up for any delay experienced.
Overall, my experience at Retox Restaurant and Bar was fantastic. The combination of delectable food, a lively ambiance, and attentive service made it a memorable visit. Whether you're looking for a relaxed dinner with friends, a romantic evening, or a place to unwind after a long day, Retox is a perfect choice. I would highly recommend visiting this gem in Viman Nagar, Pune, and indulging in the flavors and hospitality it...
ย ย ย Read moreRetox is a bar restaurant which serves Indian & Continental food along with a nice elaborate menu of cocktails and other drinks. The wooden furniture and retro bulbs and lights offers a really rustic feel to the ambience. The management here is good too but the staff is a little undertrained and service needs to improve.
Coming to the food : 1) Tandoori Chicken Wings : The tandoori chicken was spot on from flavour point of view and also the chicken was cooked to perfection, the chicken was succulent. The portion size of the wings too were generous!
Butter Garlic Prawns : The butter garlic prawns were amazing in taste, it had subtle garlic flavor and were nice and salty and it was served with a toasted butter garlic bread too. The only thing I hated about this dish was that the prawns were not fresh.
Veg Lollipop : I think these were supposed to be vegetable fried balls but there was way too much bread crumbs in it because thats all I could taste. It was very doughy and to form the stick portion of lollipop they used a crispy Sedani Rigati pasta which was a little odd. The combination just didn't work.
Indian Curries in Main Course : Now how this concept works is that they give you tasters of all the curries they have and then you can order the one or two or more curries you like and you can customize it with the option of variety of meats or vegetables or paneer.
i) Chicken Makhani : This chicken makhani gravy was perfect. It was sweet and creamy and had a nice thick consistency. The chicken pieces were generous too but chicken was a little overcooked.
ii) Vegetable Stew Gravy : This was a creamy stew of assorted vegetables. The gravy itself had a very light masala flavour and it was more on the malai side. Loved it!
In drinks I loved : 1) Skull Shot 2) Smoked Whiskey Sour 3) Bombay to Goa (Boozy Ice Gola)
Overall it's a decent place to visit along with your friends or colleagues for...

At first, it feels like a sports bar themed ambiance, but it's not. The sitting arrangement and feel are quite comparable to Bar Stock Exchange (KP) Or Coconut Tree (Magarpatta). The music is good, loud but not irritating. The group of friends will definitely enjoy it. Probably not for the couples.
Let's talk about food, it's tasty, it's good. And I rest my case. Why so less talk? Because they have Lil unusual kind of dishes. For example, they don't have plain fries. What they have is "original v" fries. And frankly, I want regular or masala fries, not the these which aren't a match for regular ones. Something similar story with the nachos. All other dishes follow the almost same pattern and I'm not happy about that. But your mileage may vary.
Drinks, now we are talking business guys. Happy hours almost all the time. Feeling thirsty already? Yeah. And to top it off they have some really nice cocktails. Sometimes they don't have some of the drinks available and that's complaint about management, you should have the stocks up-to-date. I visited twice this week, on Sunday and Wednesday and they all the major beers were not available, including Bira, Independence craft, and almost all the strong ones. On the wine side, only Fratelli classic Merlot was available. And everything else was out of stock. Not good. So the happy hour's thing is again a mixed bag.
So what's the final verdict, you should definitely visit this place with a group of people, couples can too. But I feel this is a group place. So enjoy the music and party hard, Let your body "Retox" and...
