'Great cry little wool', is the perfect example of Haldiram, D mall, Rohini.
It was on 12th October around 9 PM, we went for this brand outlet expecting a good worth. But what we encountered was seldom expected (I never had similar experience earlier with Haldiram, at any of its outlets).
Well, the moment we entered it was full packed which is understood as it was a Friday night cum Navratri. We looked for and found a seating on the first floor at the corner. Could cherish the ambience much as that place was similar to a godown, full of racked cartons wherever you see. (I couldn't take the pic), but as we had no other place to sit, we had to manage.
When it came for ordering items, we were to choose from the two menus provided (A regular menu and one special Navratri Menu). We selected a few items to order, but we were a bit skeptical if any of the items had onion or garlic in it (Few members were abstaining from these two vegetables, A very common scene to be found in North India). But, as we usually find some marking/note regarding such items in menus around the corners, we found this scheme missing. Well, not a big deal, I went to the counter to ask for the same which they replied that all the items which I asked for were without these two vegetables. So I proceeded for the order. But to my wonder, this guy was happy to announce that they do not have most of the items which I requested for and hence can't take the order ( Missing items- Chhole Bhature, Pao Bhaji, Aloo Tikki, mist of chinese, a few south indian items and few other scattered fragments were also missing from their list). In any case, we prepared another list of our choices and gave the order. (In the mean while, my group came down and settled on ground floor after finding it empty).
I tried to give the order slips on to the counter, but was aghast when no one seem bothered in collecting it for a long time (around 10 minutes or so)...I would have been content had they even took my slip and asked me to wait...but none of them even gave a look and I (along with few similar customers) was standing like some invisible object. Finally I had to loud my voice to make the deaf ear hear, just to know in return that these items will be given by the other side of the counter and I should proceed towards them, for which I noded in yes.
I didn't take me much time at the other two counters and readily proceeded with my orders (Two plates Golgappe, One Dal Makhni, One Mix Veg, Chef special Paneer item, Few Naans and Rotis).
In the meanwhile I took few glasses of water from the drinking water counter, but again, to my pitty, one of the so called cleaned glasses was not so clean with floating fat in the water.
Food quality was good (Haldiram has maintained it)
No one to take the platters out from plate, and you were to make your own tables clean.
Pricing was a bit high...could have been appreciated had they provided...
Read moreHaldiram's was founded in 1937 by Shri Ganga Bhishen Agarwal as a retail sweets and namkeenshop in Bikaner, Rajasthan.[2] In order to drive expansion, the company's first manufacturing plant was started in Calcutta.[2] In 1970, a larger manufacturing plant was established in Jaipur.[2]Another manufacturing plant was established in New Delhi, the capital of India, in the early 1990s.[2]In 2003, the company began the process of developing convenience foods to be marketed to consumers.[8] In 2014, Haldiram was ranked 55th among India's most trusted brands according to the Brand Trust Report, a study conducted by Trust Research Advisory.[9] The company has grown at a tremendous pace over the years and in 2017 it was crowned as the country’s largest snack company, surpassing all other domestic and international competitors.[10] In addition to domestic success, the country has found global success with its products being available at more than 80 countries including Sri Lanka, Germany, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.[11]
Haldiram's has over 400 products. Its product range includes traditional namkeens, western snacks, Indian sweets, cookies, sherbets, papads and pickles. The company also produces ready-to-eat food products. In the 1990s, the production of potato-based foods was enabled by the importation of machinery from the United States designed for these purposes.[2]
Haldiram's products are marketed at various retail locations such as bakeries and confectionery stores, among others, and also on various commercial websites.[2] The pricing of the company's products is typically inexpensive compared to similar products made by other companies.[2] Prior and up to August 2003 in the United States market, the company's products were limited to potato chips.[8] The company's products are carried by some Indian supermarkets in the U.S.[12] In the U.S., Haldiram's products are popular with South Asian...

I once thought highly of this chain because they consistently followed standard procedures in all their stores. However, my opinion changed when I went to their D Mall, Rohini location with my family.
Here are the points for the management to take note of:
They should provide leaflet menus for the older generation who may not be tech-savvy enough to scan and access the menu digitally. Despite calling out multiple times, there were no attendants available to clear the tables. The cashier at the order desk clearly mentioned that there was a shortage of staff. There were third-party staff (promotion staff) present who displayed rude and inhospitable behavior. I overheard them telling an elderly customer, "You call someone else for cleaning, it's not our job," when the customer politely asked to call someone to clear their table so they could eat their meal. Most importantly, we were unable to order half of the menu items because the tandoor operator was on a break in the middle of the day when the outlet was still operating. The outlet itself looked shabby and outdated, with nothing properly aligned. The gift corner had no one to assist with sales, and the hand wash sink appeared worn-out. When you enter, there is no one on the left side to attend or guide you as what all saleable items are stacked there.
I believe the management should make a surprise visit to this outlet and witness firsthand how it is tarnishing their brand name. My intention is not to degrade it, but rather to address these issues and take steps to make the outlet more vibrant and welcoming for customers. I see Haldiram as a pioneer in vegetarian eateries, not just in India but also in other parts...
