Adyar Bakery — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

What happened to this place? I hate to put bad reviews but I had to for this one. It used to be so good w freshly baked cakes and pastries. It was seriously the worst cake I’ve ever tasted. It seriously felt as if eating cardboard! The pizza was ok. We were saved because of the Ice creams (that too Kwality). I took the kids and was raving to them about it due to my childhood memories. God, we’re we disappointed. Don’t waste your money. And the service, what’s up w that? It isn’t a big place. There were 3-4 people standing behind the counter, they wouldn’t greet, serve or suggest w anything. I felt sad seeing how the place has gone from great to bad. They have a shelf of pre-packaged items. I mean they are a bakery for godsake! They have so much potential but looks like management doesn’t care enough to make it better. They better watch out coz they are lot of better choices in Adyar for baked goods. Hope they change for the...

CHOCHOLAATE TRUFFLES : They use worst cream and they cover it with chocolate.. It's was hard and not chocolatey.. Waste of money I will not buy cakes from Adayar bakery again. . And a single piece of chocholate truffle cakes tastes is different from the 1kg chocholaate truffle.. Very dissapointed with that. . Cheating people with selling one cake with different quality in branded shop is so cheap. And with cheap cream on demanding cakes is not good. .learn from ferns and petals, French loaf, hot breads, 7th Heaven is far better from you... Because of puffs, boxed, and packed ready made products nly your shop is running, stop these three no one will buy cakes...

Have been visiting Adyar Bakery right from 1970s when we moved into Adyar. Those days, its appearance and offerings were totally different. Their Bun-butter-jam, Vegetable Puff, the first ever "Cone ice cream" aka softie in Adyar area were all big hits. Later Aavin too started selling Cone Ice cream at a lower price. But now Adyar bakery is no more a unique place. Several clones have sprung up across TN and Karnataka. However its customer base and its offerings have both changed with time.
