Gangotree — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I frequent Gangotree Adyar very often as I reside in Gandhinagar Adyar. Today evening I had pani puri. The guy took almost 10 minutes to reach the counter and was very laid back. The pani puri however was good. I ordered sweets and wanted a mix of all kaju sweets however different varieties were priced at different prices . The billing staff who also attended to me at the counter charged me at the highest rate of Rs.1440/- per kg . After I pointed out the issue, he started arguing that when one orders a kaju mix only the highest rate is charged. When I pointed out that when he is billing me on weight basis should I not have differential pricing ?. He reluctantly got up from his seat and grudgingly replaced the lower rate sweets with the higher rate sweets. He justified by saying usually they weigh a little more to take care of such abnormalities which I found absurd. While the weight of box is also included while weighing , how does he justify his weighment, I don't understand. I wish the owners or supervisor monitor such practices more keenly and do not allow the customers to be...

Was a regular customer here until I faced bad behavior by the staff. I had ordered for a drink and was waiting there for picking up my order. I waited there for about 5 minutes and there were three waiters chatting about their lives. I could understand what they were speaking as I can understand hindi. When I asked them about my drinks, They told me cant you see we are talking. ("Tumko dikhta nahi hai kya ki hum baat kar rahe hai?"). They then continued with their conversation. Even if he had told me the same thing politely, I would have patiently waited but I dont appreciate their tone. I understand that I am a 20 year old student. Being young doesn't mean that I can be spoken to badly by the staff there. They must understand that every customer deserves equal amount of respect. I hope the manager makes this change. This would help the restaurant...

Well make sure u go before 7 Pm here ... Coz u will not get the menu items here by 7 pm .... Still had some chaats - katori chaat ( a cup made of fried batter in shape of a cup lol ... And with chick peas , onion , green peas , tomatoes , chutneys ... ) It tasted really good i hogged on it coz i was hungry ...

Then with a calm stomach had some bhel puri , pani puri and cheese pav bhaji ... Disappointed with the cheese pav bhaji because usually the bhaji has the cheese and not the Pav ... Here pav had the cheese inside no idea why

Bhel puri was amazing , had kerry with it to give the imli taste and was pretty north indian taste

Pani puri was bland to be honest but people will like it ...

Bit on the pricier side as everything starts from 69 rs ... ( Hmmm not sure why 69 ... Well owner is a cool...
