I visited a restaurant after hearing about it on YouTube, particularly known for its porotta served with chicken and mutton chops on a banana leaf. Unfortunately, those dishes were not available during our visit. Hereâs my experience:
Porotta - 4.5/5 The porotta was excellentâsoft, fluffy, and incredibly tasty. Itâs definitely worth trying if you visit this place.
Gravy - 3/5 The gravy was good but not exceptional or unique. It was fine to have but didnât leave a lasting impression.
Chicken Fry - 3.5/5 This dish had a good and different taste. It wasnât a dry fry or kebab style, but still enjoyable, though not outstanding.
Normal Kalakki - 3/5 A decent one-sided omelet prepared differently. It was good but lacked sufficient salt and didnât stand out as anything special.
Curry Kalakki - 4/5 Very good in taste with the right balance of salt. Served piping hot, this was a must-try item.
The restaurant offers ample parking space, which is a big plus.
Toilets are available at the back of the restaurant, which adds to the convenience for travelers.
The service, however, needs significant improvement. Communication was a challenge as most staff preferred speaking only in Tamil. While I respect their love for their language, this created difficulties for us as guests in Tamil Nadu. Due to these language barriers, one of the items we ordered was not served.
The food is a bit overpriced for what is offered. In terms of value for money, it feels slightly overrated.
UPI payments are accepted, but card payments are not.
While the food, especially the porotta and curry kalakki, was enjoyable, the service and pricing left room for improvement. If youâre planning to visit, itâs good to brush up on basic Tamil phrases to make...
Read moreI ordered Parottas and Chicken Lollipop to take away. The Parottas and Salna were salty and they burnt Chicken Lollipop which was just 4 pieces cost 220Rs. It was burnt too much that It tasted too salty. And Onion Slices were given with Lollipop which looks like a 4 years old kid sliced it. A Street Vendor slices better than you guys. I strongly believe Kongu Parotta is rapidly losing its legacy and food tastes like Extremely Salty and not appetite đ¤˘. And you guys are charging 30 Rs per piece. That coconut chutney is runny like someone keeps adding water instead of preparing new one when they ran out of Chutney. The Kongu region people like to eat Parotta with A nice Thick chutney. You guys don't even have Hot Water. If someone is asking Hot Water the waiter says we don't have it. And the person in the Parking area. Please teach him how to talk to the customers and how to assist the customers to park the cars. It seems he is also confused about...

That of relishing few fluffy and soft famed Parottas in Kongu Parotta stall in Erode.
Accompanied by delicious portions of thick gravy and flavour some kudal curry.
Often when a spectacle or stuff carries a great reputation, the actual experience falls short. But not in this case.. The experience exceeded the well deserved reputation.
The Parottas were as soft as described by many reviewers. The kudal curry was utterly delicious. The gravy that accompanied the Parottas was quite good too. Thick and flavoursome.
Kudal curry at 175 bucks was a bit costly but the portion size and the quality more than compensated.
I...
