I've been visiting Ram's for the past 2 years, and it had the best tea compared to other outlets. However, in recent months, the place has become a total mess when it comes to service and the greediness in the cost of tea. They moved from a small outlet to a bigger one nearby, and it wasn't for the better. There's no place to sit and drink tea, long queues to get a cup, a price hike after the move, no proper management of the space, etc.
For a regular tea, they charge 27 rupees with no seating inside, and sometimes they say there are no cups because they're being cleaned, and suggest using small paper cups, which feels like a scam. They run the shop 24 hours, yet they claim they have no cups? Seriously? I've seen people, including myself, come from farther away and stand there disappointed due to police harassment. When you operate a 24-hour shop, why is there a hassle with the police asking us to leave the place? You're earning lots of money, so you should make us comfortable rather than having us wait outside like beggars. It's so pathetic.
Also, after drinking tea and just sitting idle outside, the workers come and ask if I have an empty cup. Is this really something you ask your customers? Where are your manners? You should focus more on hygiene, organization, and quick service instead of just making money. We pay three times more than a local tea shop, where they charge 10 to 12 rupees, offer us a place to sit under the fan no matter how long we stay. So why visit this place? It's only because of the taste of the tea, and that's the only thing that matters here.
There's also a burst drainage in front of the shop, and you don't care about it, despite it happening several times. All you do is make people regret visiting your shop to drink tea and be harassed by the police as if we've committed a crime. I have never been more disappointed in a place than I am...
Read moreRam's Tea House in Anna Nagar is an excellent spot for tea and snacks lovers alike. Conveniently located within walking distance from the Anna Nagar East metro station, itâs perfectly situated on Anna Nagarâs popular food street, making it easy to find and adding to the vibrant energy of the area. Ram's Tea House has several branches across Chennai, but this location has a charm of its own, drawing in crowds daily with its cozy, inviting atmosphere.
The tea and coffee here are exceptional, known for their rich flavors that consistently satisfy customers' taste buds. In addition to hot beverages, Ram's Tea House offers a variety of snacks, including biscuits and savory items that pair perfectly with their teas. One standout item, in my opinion, is the hazelnut bun. This bun has a smooth, tender texture and a unique taste that make it a must-try; Iâd go as far as to say it's one of the best buns you can find in Chennai, especially paired with a steaming cup of tea.
One thing to keep in mind is that Ram's Tea House operates on a self-service basis, which adds to its casual vibe. While thereâs a dedicated bike parking area in front of the shop, parking for cars can be challenging due to the high foot traffic, especially during peak hours. Despite the crowds and limited car parking, Ram's Tea House is well worth a visit for anyone in Anna Nagar or the surrounding areas. The combination of delicious tea, snacks, and a bustling ambiance makes it a delightful...

If you visit this place, my number one recommendation is Panalarkandu Paalâitâs absolutely âVera Levelâ! Every sip is incredibly soothing, and the taste lingers beautifully in your throat. If you havenât tried it yet, youâre missing out! This place is truly happening, especially at night. The atmosphere is lively, and you can definitely feel the energy around you. Iâve been here many times, and one thing that stands out is the quality of their tea. As they claim, itâs top-notch. In fact, Iâm convinced they either add a special essence to the milk or use exceptionally high-quality milk because even plain milk here has a richer taste and a thicker consistency than what we usually consume daily. While their tea is amazing, their filter coffee is also delicious. However, since I usually visit at night, I avoid coffee to prevent sleep disturbances. But if youâre a coffee lover, itâs worth trying! Rams Tea is not just about tea, itâs an experience. Whether youâre here for their famous tea, coffee, or the legendary Panalarkandu Paal, this place wonât disappoint. Highly...
