Oh, gather round, my culinary adventurers, as I regale you with the saga of my recent tryst with Sree Gupta Bhavan, a place that rode the waves of hype straight into the harbour of my discerning taste buds.
Picture this: I sauntered in, expectations as high as my neighbour's hedge. The talk of the town had been all about Sree Gupta Bhavan's prowess in the snack department, and well, I’m a sucker for hype. So, I plonked myself down, the lone ranger on the first floor – perhaps a red flag, but I’m an optimist.
Now, onto the main characters of our story – Panner Tikka, Chola Bhatura, and the ever-reliable Fresh Lime Soda. The Panner Tikka arrived, and let's just say, it was more of a Panner Tango than a Tikka. Average would be a compliment; it was the Muzak of paneer dishes.
Moving on to the Chola Bhatura drama – the side dish seemed like it had been on a sightseeing tour of every kitchen in town before landing on my plate. Cold, lifeless, and about as fresh as yesterday's news. It tasted like it had been preparing for this gig hours before I even considered stepping into Sree Gupta Bhavan.
As the sole patron on the first floor, I couldn't help but wonder if I'd unwittingly stumbled into a Snack Twilight Zone. Was there a hidden camera, waiting for my dramatic reaction to lacklustre paneer and chilled chola? Perhaps, but I soldiered on, my taste buds the unsung heroes of this culinary tragedy.
In conclusion, dear food enthusiasts, unless you have a penchant for culinary disappointment, I'd give Sree Gupta Bhavan a miss until they find their way back to the culinary promised land. For now, it's a snack stop that belongs in the annals of "not worth the hype." May your food adventures be more triumphant than my ill-fated tryst with paneer mediocrity. Cheers to dining sagas...
Read moreI visited the restaurant with my friend for lunch. We arrived there by around 1. But still lunch was not ready there. Whatever dish we chose they were saying not available that too on the Sunday afternoon. Even they said dessert is not available. While we clearly see other tables were getting the dish they have ordered. It seems they are literally showing partiality or specifically being racist or ill treating people who are not rich. So, as there is no option left we then ordered a plain roti and paneer butter masala. But the food was cold. If you go to even a small restaurant they will serve you the hot food. But then we politely requested to heat the food for more than 3 times but it seems no chef in the kitchen has really cared about it. Even the waiters don't know how to retreat the customers. If the restaurant is really busy they could have told us but instead they just brought the cold food again without heating claiming it was heated 👏 carelessness at its peak. We then talked to the manager but he calmly replied I'm in notice period leaving in a few weeks and this issue keeps happening here. Then we talked to the chef and he was not reacting or taking responsibility to make this right. But here it could have been easily resolved with a good apology or even trying something to make the customer feedback valued.
It's like Food was just average and not fresh. To top it off, we were not treated with respect.
Overall the food , the service and the atmosphere everything was very worse. I never had such a bad experience before. Truly disappointed. Visit this restaurant at...
Read moreSree Gupta Bhavan offers a pleasant dining experience with tasty meals, snacks, and sweets, though a few areas could use improvement. Located in a convenient spot, the restaurant provides a variety of items on the first floor, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I visited for dinner, and while the food was flavorful and service was fast, it was surprising that they close a bit early in the evening.
The interiors are nicely done, creating a welcoming ambiance for a relaxed meal. We ordered a mix of snacks and main course items, all of which were well-prepared with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. The savory snacks were especially satisfying, as were the main course options. However, the portion sizes felt quite small, which may be a letdown if you’re used to generous servings.
We also sampled a few sweets, which looked appealing but could use some enhancement in taste to match the quality of the main dishes. While the meals and snacks stood out for their taste, the desserts fell a bit short. Overall, Sree Gupta Bhavan is a good choice for a quick bite or meal, but larger portions and improved desserts would make the experience...
