The Tanjore Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

We went for illai sapadu at Tanjore restaurant on 17th march 2024 (a Sunday)This one of the restaurants inside woodlands. I had eaten Tanjore meals before pandemic, though I liked the meals I dint like the seating setup. But now they have changed it and it’s available at the ground floor. The menu had - White rice Dhal - yummy one Ghee - very good Sambar - very good Rasam - ok types Potato curry - not a fan of potato so no comments Avial - exceptionally excellent Cucumber Pachadi - good Kara kolambu - not my type Curd - excellent, thick one Appalam - good Poli After meals - Banana and beeda

The cost does seems bit high, but food was excellent. The place is small and hence seats are limited. I would suggest go early on Sunday so you can enjoy the food and atmosphere.

Disappointed the way lunch was served YESTERDAY 3rd March 2024, in woodlands thanjavore!!!

Expected an authentic South Indian meals but …. Including rice all the dishes were served cold … diluted aviyal, without cucumber only damn salty curd for thair pachadi uncooked potatoes for curry, so called Kara kozhambu was bland with no taste..

charged Rs. 230/- per meal, though complained to the manager, he was beating around the bush n no regret

From 11.30 am they start serving lunch n close by 2.30 pm We entered at 2.15 pm… when they know they cannot serve hot meal at that time, they shd stop giving token, and requested us to have good meal at Vrindavan restaurant next door

If we had spent only Rs. 100 to 120/- in a normal cafe roadside, we could have eaten a better lunch :(

I visited this restaurant on 05sep2024, actually I don't know whom to blame the people or the hotel management, the thing is it was bit crowded when I visited, so they asked us to pay the bill in advance and wait for the turn, as we were waiting around 12 PPL went inside and had food, which is so irritating, because we were waiting for a long time, finally the response was given only when we shouted, atleast if we hadn't paid the bill in advance I would have definitely went to another hotel for sure, don't visit this place if you're hungry or if it's crowded or if you're short of time,if you have all the time in this world, you can visit for sure. Food was ok, but they could have been more cautious because I found an insect in pappu. The items served when I visited was ok , I liked the poriyal there. And some cucumber raita thing. You can visit for food if you're not worried...
