Foods were very delicious. I have never seen any restaurant employee(s) serving with water after 15 to 20 minutes of occupying the table assigned to the customer. Yes, the water opted for was cold mineral water, agreed. Individual staff need to be assigned with certain number of table(s) in busy period. Tables need to make white in appearance. Afternoon time ranges from 12PM to 3PM. Most of the people, foodies as well option for heavy food or food atarestaurant(s) during the afternoon period. Kindly please make all the dishes available during that moment. If someone calls and asks for the availability of the dishes, it should be checked first and then informed correctly. If informed and it is not sure whether the dishes will be available or not please note down the name of the customer, the time he would be able to come and please make the dishes available during that time or till 1 hour elapse from that time and customer does not call you again. At least the availability of the raw materials to make the dish need to be checked and then informed to customer correctly. Read moreYears back my experience with dining at BHM in their sector 5 outlet was very good considering quality and quantity of the food. Today I went to their Diamond plaza outlet for lunch with my family and was very much disappointed. BHM have not maintained their legacy as the restaurant chain of Bengali cuisine by any means particularly quality and quantity of food as well service and ambiance. There website is even not updated and many dishes though that are not seasonal are not served. Fish fry you can get far better at Mitra cafe. And main course, veg or non vegetarian are far better served at 6 Ballygunge, Oh Calcutta, Ilish or Kasturi. Considering price, that is more at other restaurants but if you take quantity served at other restaurants into consideration it doesn't makes big difference because portions are significantly better at others when you dine with family and share dishes. Regarding quality definitely have a big big difference and no question can be raised. We had- Shukto very less quantity and dry. Plain rice so- so Luchi smaller than other restaurants Fish fry ,size smaller and thin, dry in comparison. Mocha chop and devil ,same as above. Chicken dakbanglow -three small portion with one boiled egg and little gravy. Chanar dalna - two small dumplings with very little gravy. Jumbo elish bhapa - not jumbo at all, size 2.5-3 Inch length and 1/2 inch thick on average served with very little gravy. Only Kasundi served with fries was of good quality. Service manners are...

Diamond Plaza, Nagerbazar Branch.
Checked in at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The universal vegetarian plate, the quintessential "thali" was stated by the waiter concerned as "sold out". The mixed vegetarian soup known as "shukto", a popular starter for Bengali meals, was also stated to be "sold out". At 2 o'clock in the afternoon… which might be considered to be a primetime for lunch on a Bengali Sunday. The waiter says, "We don't cook the food here; it is cooked in the Main Branch and is distributed all over the city. We have orders flowing in through online modes as well." Although I did not bother to ask which the "Main Branch" was, I failed to comprehend the business model of the restaurant chain. I failed to understand that after so many years of existence of this Branch at this very spot, the management of the "Main Branch" was not informed of the demand graphs of this Branch, if at all what the waiter said about the food being cooked and delivered from somewhere else is true. As we were about to pay our bill, another table, which was seated a few minutes prior, was served a "thali". On being enquired about the mysterious reappearance of the plate after being "sold out" when we were about to order, the waiter said that the plate was freshly delivered just then. Strange turns of events, to say the least.
To mention about the quality of food, it must be said the flavours of the dishes were good. But the servings do not do justice to...
