Passing by this spot almost every day, I finally decided to dive in and try some of their specialties! Hereâs what I ordered:
đœ Berlinâs Choice - Grilled chicken sausage with a side of creamy mashed potatoes and a unique apple relish. The perfect combo of savory and sweet!
đ Crispy Chicken and Mushroom Pizza - This oneâs a delight! Crispy chicken paired with juicy mushrooms, all smothered in what I believe was a rich bechamel sauce.
đ„ Mango Pava - A dessert that truly stole my heart. Smooth and creamy mango filling that was simply too good to miss. A must-try!
đ Mango Exotica - This dish had a perfect blend of banana, pineapple, and mango, with a delightful sour hit. The presentation was on point, and the outer layerâs creamy texture made me fall in love with it! đ„°
Special Shoutout to Mr. Jimmy! Even though the Classic Tiramisu was sold out, he went above and beyond to make sure I got to try it. đ While the coffee flavor was subtle, the mascarpone cheese was fantastic. Itâs a one-time try, but they also have exciting flavors like Pistachio, Saffron, and Blueberry Tiramisu!
Overall, I had a great time dining here and finally got to taste their signature dishes. I did indulge quite a bit and tried all the dishes on my own. đ However, my previous takeaway experience was a bit underwhelming, especially with the beverages like the Biscoff shake and fresh juices, which didnât quite hit the mark for me.
đĄ Pro Tip: They accept Zomato reservations, and if you pre-book your table, you get a flat 20% discount along with other bank offers! This fantastic feature isnât limited to just this restaurant but is available in many restaurants across Chennai and other states as well. Definitely worth...
Read moreHad lunch recently with a group of friends and kids together. The first floor was quite spacious compared to the ground floor dining. We had a large seating space for 6-7 adults and 4 kids. The very berry peach drink was refreshing and seemed to be their signature drink. The chicken starters were really great and loved even by kids. Prawn starter was also equally liked by the kids. Portions were large enough to be shared by these many people to have at least a bite! Peach based coconut flavored drink was also ok to try once. The curry rice ghee roast chicken was a different dish in an intercontinental restaurant. While the rice was flavourful in it, the chicken had a burnt flavor with less salt and couldnât be savoured enough. The peri peri chicken thigh with vegetables was nice and the same goes to the herbed chicken breast bowl. The mushroom pizza in the veg menu was also great and flavourful. The white sauce pasta was devoured by the kids within minutes!! But the same cannot be said about the three cheese chicken lasagna as it had too much of oil and cheese alike and nothing much of the flavour of the dish stood out other than greasiness.. For desserts the chocolate cake, biscoff cheesecake, hazelnut delight none were so great or stood out for the price point!! After being to so many cafes, this didnât seem to stand out much in terms of dishes and pretty much seemed over priced for our group! We almost had a bill of 11k for our group and according to the bill amount we could have had better dish selections and none of the dishes particularly stood out as such! Maybe a once visit place! Can definitely improve their menu selection...
Read moreOverpriced for food which is below average.
Ordered chicken wings which was dry inside, flavour was like some roadside kiosk (nothing fancy), and the chicken was not fresh. Harissa & Mozarella chicken club sandwich (without tomatoes), bc of our no tomatoes choice, one layer was overfilled with plain lettuce and no seasoning or even some dip smeared in it. That is how much effort they had put it in. The bread was cheap, nothing like what you would expect in a CAFE that charged 400 odd rupees for a sandwich. Couldn't even chew through the crust, it was that rough and dry.
Then the Thai cold coffee was just some coffee powder in extremely watered down milk. Bru coffee at home made by someone making it for the first time would taste the same.
The waiter didn't know the different between one coffee and another, when asked he went inside and came back. He didn't know if one was a sandwich or a wrap, again he went inside and came back. The staff are all undertrained.
I don't know why we need to give them our hard earned money when they are all slacking and not doing their jobs.
Running a coffee shop doesn't end at getting a good venue and putting up some flashy (poor taste) interior design, it is an everyday job. They have to remember they are serving us food for premium price.
Glow Cafe is an utter failure at that. I read some other reviews and I am stunned how people are okay with accepting below mediocre food and service for the money...
