Black Sheep — Restaurant in Bali

This place is terrible. I seriously do not understand all the good reviews. The service was abysmal, I had to get up multiple times to walk over to the counter to get everything fro napkins to sugar for my iced latte. I had to wait forever for the server to take my order, then wait again to get the WiFi password, then when I did order my main meal, they were “out of” small pizza dough and fish & chips. How does a restaurant run out of pizza dough?? You make it in batches daily and let it rise, you know 3 days ahead of time how much inventory you have/need. The music is schizophrenic- a mixture of American RnB and rap, with some 90’s alternative rock thrown in. Extremely unappetizing. Several other tables had similar problems and like me, left prematurely. The coffee is terrible quality, the food I did eat, the pulled pork tacos, were cold and the pork tasted great but it was covered up with all manner of other things that overwhelmed the flavor. Including thick ribbons of iceberg lettuce - yuck. Fries were cold & flavorless. Do not recommend. If you want an amazing pizza, go go L’Osteria around the corner. I think the food is good even the staff and boss are so kind. But something wrong feeling, first, they didn’t have any water in toilet today(but they didn’t prepare any backup water to figure out the problem), even the coffee machine is with problem(it should be told before we sit down), I am disappointed that I can’t order coffee. The last and the worst thing is SUPER HOT, when I was sitting in this restaurant. It seems to stay inside of a steam boiler. I looked at the roof design, it is a poor design without any cover. We had to accept all the hot feelings. Unfortunately today is high temperature in Ubud and we chose the lunch time to visit there. So I recommend the owner to design again the roof (refers from other Indonesian design), or it is better for customer to skip the lunch time to visit here. About the food, for me, I felt here is with a good taste of bule/western food, but I lost my appetite to enjoy the food in hot environment, so finally I took away my pizza. And my Indonesian friend was disappointed without any local Indonesian food selection in menu. Even we can’t order any coffee today too. So totally, I can’t give 5...

The positive - the baked goods looked quite nice. Very close to monkey forest but no need to worry about the monkeys as it is around the corner. Lovely street! So good for travelling with the monkey crossing shortcut via Gojek.

The negative - I come in with the intention of dining here because of a recommendation, ordered a Gojek specifically to come here. they don’t have the drink I was looking for that is okay. So while leaving and waiting outside for a new Gojek the waitress (only one so I know who) and a regular (I can assume) made me very uncomfortable.

The older man was making a comment about my body and how flat my chest is. I understand some Bahasa and hand gestures. He was leering at me and uncomfortable. The waitress laughed and nodded, I caught her looking also.
