We originally gave Alam Pizza 4 stars, but have reduced those to 1 after a few bad experiences.
First visit out of three in total, everything was good, except that they charged us for an extra pizza of 65.000 - we caught it before we paid, and told them, and they fixed the mistake. Mistakes happen.
Second visit out of three in total, the price was right the first time, but the waiting time was almost 30 minutes for 1 large and 1 small pizza on a very slow evening. I also got a stomach ache shortly after eating my pizza.
Third visit out of three in total, the price was wrong again - this time they charged us for an extra water. The mistake was fixed, and we paid, only to get told they did not have enough cash for change, so a 1000 IDR was missing from the change. Also, even though they confirmed that we wanted no olives, the pizza came with olives. Finally my girlfriend got a stomach ache shortly after eating her first slices of the pizza.
I told them my concern about two mistakes on the bill out of three - how it seemed to be them trying to cheat a couple of "innocent tourists", only to get told that as long as I caught the mistakes, they didn't see a problem.
So, what originally was a good experience, turned into something I would...
Read moreNow this is what happens when you walk in just based on reviews of tourists ( who probably stayed a couple of nights in Ubud). The visit to the restaurant was the most disappointing of all the restaurants I visited in my almost month long stay. The ambience was average of a low cost warung. Ordered the meat lover pizza (70k) and a ( very VERY small) glass of wine (45k). Pizza was OK. There was one piece of minced beef (!), little bacon, more sausages and ham and lot of bell peppers. Pizza was served with 2 bottles of off-supermarket-shelf chilli and tomato sauces. The wine was a HUGE ripoff. The Glass was very small and the wine quantity was 1/3rd of what you would get even on main stret restaurants in Ubud. I was the only person there so should have taken a hint. 3 notes: Prices on the photo here are obsolete. Photos of the pizzas that are uploaded by the owner are biased, toppings aren't that generous. Drinks are a rip off and a scam. All in all, a very disappointing experience. I suggest if you want pizza, rather go to Umah. Better atmosphere, better pizza, much larger drinks and...
Read moreMy husband had tried one year ago the Anchovies pizza and this year we came together and we went straight away to Alam Pizza for dinner. Nasi goreng, the tuna steak were delicious and of course the Anchovies pizza was excellent again. After dinner a torrential rain started and the owner brought us home in his motorbike. We used the tour service and transfer to our full satisfaction. We did the volcano tour and at our request we got an additional stop at a wood carving factory. For both the tour and the transfer Mr Wayan, owner of the Italian - Balinese restaurant was always in time. Our experience has been excellent, with both, the restaurant and the transportation. We recommend to...
