I recently visited Flock for breakfast, and while the overall atmosphere and comfort of the restaurant were pleasant, my experience with the food left much to be desired.
On my first visit, I ordered the B&E, which was generally tasty. However, it was served with onion marmalade, which I personally didn't enjoy. Hoping for a better experience, I returned on the third day and politely asked if they could substitute the onion marmalade with sautéed onions. Unfortunately, the staff informed me that they were unable to accommodate my request, which was surprising considering they had previously made changes to other dishes without any warning.
Furthermore, this incident led me to question the integrity of the establishment. If they were able to serve my partner's dish correctly, it raises concerns as to why they falsely served me the B&E with the undesired onion marmalade. It is disheartening to have this kind of experience when a simple request couldn't be fulfilled.
On my second visit to Flock, my partner and I ordered the egg Benny, expecting a classic poached egg preparation. However, to our surprise, the dish was served with eggs that resembled more of a hot bath style, with the whites still runny. This not only disappointed us, but it also made my partner feel unwell. Furthermore, the sautéed spinach that was originally listed on the menu was substituted without any prior warning with sautéed sawi hijau, which we found unappetizing.
Another letdown was the fresh orange juice. Despite asking if they served fresh juice, we received a beverage that clearly didn't match our expectations of genuine fresh orange juice.
The only positive aspect I can highlight from my experience at Flock was their iced latte, which was amazing.
All in all, I regret to say that I won't be returning to Flock for breakfast. The lack of flexibility in accommodating requests, the disappointing substitution of ingredients, and the questionable freshness of the juice were major letdowns. I hope that Flock takes these criticisms into consideration and works towards improving their breakfast offerings to provide a more satisfying dining experience for...
Read moreFood is great, waiters are incredibly friendly and atmosphere is nice and relaxed for a day of Coworking with fast WiFi. The only thing Iâm pissed about is the fact they donât provide customers with free drinking water, given how pricey the food is. You have to really really ask and kind of beg for it, this is an important point to improve. On a very hot day in Bali with 30 degrees outside you canât really not serve free drinking water which is the most inexpensive thing in the world. If the owner is reading this: I think itâs a bit shameful that your waiters are afraid of serving water to customers due to the policies you have around this. How much does it cost to give free water? Like 2k? And how much money does a costumer spend on average in every visit? Like 100k? I love this place but the only reason I donât come every day is because itâs one of the few places in Ubud you get long faces and hesitation from the waiting staff for asking FOR WATER. Many many places (and the list is endless) offer this for free. Remember happy costumers are returning costumers and not everything is about making the biggest profit possible. Donât be so greedy and take care of your customers with simple and genuine gestures like offering free water, not everything is money and big smiles.
Suksma , I hope you take this on board.
EDIT: I had my own bottle of pocari water on the table (itâs a very very hot day) and a waitress came to ask me to stop drinking and put my water in my bag. I said I wanted to speak to someone in charge but nobody really came, I was told repeatedly to not drink my water. What the hell? Iâve never seen such a thing. Shameful...

Located just beside Artotel Ubud, Flock also serves as the provider of meal for the hotel (so if you are planning to stay at Artotel, rest assured that you'll get a good breakfast).
There's a pretty big parking space and even if that's full, valet is available.
The place has a huge bar in the middle. The ambience during the day and night are both awesome. You can opt to sit indoor and outdoor, and there seems to be a second floor as well although it was closed during my visit.
Initially i wanted to have their main course, but due to the long rainy day, my itinerary got a bit screwed so all i do that day was cafe/restaurant hopping.
So this time, i tried their infamous Kombucha, and their dessert!
For a Kombucha virgin, i didn't really know what to expect so i can't say if it's good or not for Kombucha standard, but it's a bit too sour for my liking. đ Doesn't necessarily bad, just not up to my taste bud. But i can say it's fermented nicely. It's not overly sour.
But the cake, my my.. It is gooood indeed. They deliver all the elements they put in the description. Usually when people mention raspberry, the taste is borderline laughable. No need to worry here. You get all your money's worth!
The consistency of the chocolate, the texture and thickness of the tart, the flavors of the raspberry, all perfect. Loveee it.
Will definitely come back next time if i visit Ubud again. I would definitely would love to try their...
