As a vegetarian traveler, finding excellent dining options can sometimes be a challenge, but my visit to 9 Angels and 9 Bambu in Bali proved to be an absolute delight. These neighboring establishments not only cater to vegetarians like me but also offer a fantastic poolside ambiance, great value, and the convenience of parking.
Upon arriving at 9 Angels, I was immediately impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The lush greenery surrounding the pool area created a serene oasis in the heart of town. The friendly staff made me feel right at home, and I couldn't wait to explore their vegetarian menu.
The variety of vegetarian options at 9 Angels was impressive, offering everything from traditional Indonesian dishes to international delights. I decided to try their "Vegetable Rendang," and it was nothing short of divine. The combination of fresh vegetables and aromatic spices in a rich coconut-based sauce left my taste buds dancing with joy.
Next door at 9 Bambu, I was delighted to find even more vegetarian choices. Their "Nasi Goreng Sayuran" was a flavorsome delight, boasting a perfect blend of savory fried rice with assorted vegetables and a delectable homemade sambal on the side.
One of the standout features of both establishments was the incredible value for money. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an absolute treat for vegetarians looking for a fulfilling and satisfying meal without overspending.
For those driving or riding scooters, the convenience of parking available right on the premises was a major plus. Bali's busy areas can be tricky when it comes to parking, but here, it was effortless and stress-free.
As a vegetarian, I often worry about the level of understanding and accommodation in non-vegetarian eateries. However, the staff at both 9 Angels and 9 Bambu were more than accommodating. They understood my dietary preferences and were happy to make adjustments to certain dishes to suit my needs, creating a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.
In conclusion, my time at 9 Angels and 9 Bambu was a culinary delight. The excellent vegetarian food, poolside setting, great value, and ample parking make this duo a haven for vegetarians visiting Bali. Whether you're a vegetarian or simply seeking a memorable dining experience in a tranquil setting, 9 Angels and 9 Bambu are sure to leave you with a smile and a satisfied appetite. I can't wait to return for more...
Read moreEating at 9 Angels is an experience. And one I wish to have over and over again. However, 9 Angels isn't for everyone. If you prefer flash to substance, if you lack character, if you think washing dishes is beneath you, if you must be waited on, then don't bother eating here. But if you're open to new experiences and hidden gems, 9 Angels is an essential stop.
The restaurant is hidden from view, down a small alley, hidden in foliage. The overgrown gardens present a cool place to sit in the day and its bare bones asthetics are far eclipsed by the tasty food and distinct business model. Serve yourself, pay by way of a trust system (cash only), wash up when you're done.
THE FOOD IS VEGAN BUT I'm not and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I tried everything and everything was delicious. I assume the menu changes daily and am looking forward to going back again to test this theory.
The entire vibe is one of community and acceptance. This is a meal that I will remember for a long time. How often can you say that?
As for the other reviews, calling to abuse the payment system or complaining you have to do the dishes or that it's dirty, they are completely missing the point. Unless, of course, the point of a meal is Instagram likes over true...

A wild-looking garden that fools you with nonchalance—what looks effortless, takes the most effort to keep up. Similarly the food—simple dishes that may look casually put together, takes the most love and attention to prepare. 💞
