Absolutely Amazing Local Gem in Ubud – A Must Visit!
We’ve had the absolute pleasure of dining at this restaurant every single day during our stay in Ubud – and every meal has been nothing short of fantastic. This is a truly special place: a small, quiet, and intimate family-run restaurant that has been operating for over 20 years.
The food is absolutely delicious – fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with love. The service is impeccable; the staff are kind, attentive, and always welcoming. You instantly feel like part of the family here. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left.
In addition to the restaurant, the owner’s son runs a small, independent guided tour business – and we can’t recommend it highly enough. We joined for two days of activities and had such a memorable experience. The tours were well-organized, relaxed, and gave us a real taste of local life and culture. We visited rice terraces, temples, a coffee plantation, went ATV riding, and even got to make our own jewelry with a local silversmith.
What makes it even better is knowing that your money is supporting a genuinely local and passionate family business. The prices are very reasonable, and the quality of both the service and the experiences is outstanding.
Words honestly can’t express just how highly we recommend this place – both for an unforgettable meal and for authentic, heartwarming adventures...
Read moreI can't appreciate more the food I had here. If food is meant to be, it's meant to be like this. What I had was simple, understated and traditional. A tofu/tempeh curry with rice and their warm herb drink. The food was light, simple and beautiful. Not too big a portion. For this I'm not complaining at all. I state it because in Western culture we tend to want to over-indulge on heavy laden food. This place gets it right in every way. I'm a Western trained naturopath with a focus in nutrition and herbal med. I have been a vegetarian for 30yrs. The herb drink was the most perfect thing I have ever drank. This is the most perfectly balanced and delicious food I have ever had and what a shame if it goes...
Read moreThis food was honestly incredible. It’s up there as one of my favourite meals I’ve had in SE Asia, you MUST ORDER the Putus Goreng Kecap, with pork. If you’re a spice lover, then the spicy sambal they have is also really really tasty and just adds another dimension of flavour to the dish.
It’s on a side street, but easy to find, the decor is also very cute, with a small koi pond. Very relaxing vibe.
As it’s a family owned business, it also has that authentic cosy home cooked meal feel - the star being the grandma who’s proudly featured on the cover of their menu as the source of all this amazing food.
You really should visit this place if you’re in Ubud, I’ll definitely be...
