Bakmie Bangka 58 is one of the go-to lunch spots for workers from the MCC and WTC buildings. It’s no surprise the place is absolutely packed during lunch hours. And when I say crowded, I mean it. Securing a table can feel like a competition, and the Jakarta heat doesn’t make it any easier.
The shop itself is tucked away in an alley and spans two floors, though each level only has a handful of tables. This makes the waiting time longer, especially if you’re not quick enough to grab a seat as soon as someone leaves.
But once the food arrives, it’s worth the effort. The bakmie Bangka is flavorful, oily in the best way, and generously topped with meat. They also offer other menu items, but if you want your food served quickly, stick with the noodles. The other dishes tend to take longer to prepare.
