GYO GYO GYO Hakata n Izakaya — Restaurant in Jakarta

Atmosphere and vibe is very Japanese. Waitress told us about the fresh fishes that just came in the morning.

We tried the Hokkai Oyakodon and Chasiu don set. Chasiu don looks much better than picture in the menu and the oyakodon the other way around.

Tastewise, chasiu don has strong grill taste and pretty sweet, goes very well with the salty vegetable pickles.

Hokkai Oyakodon was awesome. Aburi salmon taste great together with the butter rice. Be careful of the bones though.

On top of that the secondary dish we chose Niku Udon, just as good as the other side dishes, especially the chawan mushi.

Pricewise is also good. Both set was 99k each for donburi, udon, and side dishes.

Will definitely come back and try the other...

Hidden beneath the apartment and office district in sudirman, gyo gyo gyo serves authentic izakaya ambience with usual japanese fare.

The lunch set, especially, has great value - and great taste. Its usually around 110-120k net and menu changes daily, be quick since its only 10 servings a day.

Bara chirashi & kaisen don filled with full of fresh fish with thick cut and curry udon pair it perfectly. Mugicha served is a welcoming surprise as its my favorite kind of japanese drink. Rarely japanese restaurant serve this as most of them serving ocha as usual go to drink

Almost all of the guest are 日本のサラリーマン so this is a good thing. I will come back to try...

if you are looking for original japanese restaurant serving fresh sushi, udon, don and a bit of sake, this is the right place. my favourite is bara chirashi don. combination of several types of raw fish, fish roe, served on top the famous japanese rice. it is fabulous. their lunch set comprises of this don menu and small portion of udon, and some condiments. obviously more than enough to satisfy your hunger. their restaurant located at the basement of Sahid Apartment, next to Monami. not easy to find for first-timer. just check with the security guard at the entrance...
