Gyu-Kaku Prime at Pacific Place Mall — Restaurant in Jakarta

This place is an expensive mess. Food is mediocre, so is service.

We sat at the deepest table which had a order minimum of 2 million rupiah. But my party were all already full at 1.2 million. All though they did tell us beforehand, it was my party's fault for misunderstanding the waitress.

We ordered the gyu kaku karubi thinking it was different (and better) than the regular gyu kaku restaurants but the quality and taste is same. Only the price is more expensive. Same goes with the horenzo salad and the so called 'ocha' that taste like water.

And when seated at the back of the restaurant, you have a minimum charge but limited contact with the servers as they never once pass by our table and if we do try to call them, we have to walk an 5 meter walk to talk to them!

Im very dissapointed with this restaurant as I'm a big fan of gyu kaku. Please try to fix...

I actually like Gyukaku and think highly about Gyukaku Prime. But this evening when i ate during break fasting, we were not allowed to cook by ourselves, this make the taste and experience so less powerful compare to cooking on the table. We pay for something premium but getting things below standard!

Their reason is that the cooking equipment is not enough, but i noticed that all the tables is not cooking on the table. We did insist to cook at the table, but they said it is not possible due to unavailable cooking equipment. How can the cooking equipment become not available when no one is using it? I believe that the restaurant just want to be more efficient by sacrificing the customer's experience. And they lied to us about it!

To be honest.. it just feels like we eat yoshinoya or hoka-hoka bento instead of...

First i think, this is the all you can eat restaurant.. but when i come, the waiter said its not. But since i really craving for japanese food, i sit anyway.

I ordered wagyu katsu, prime karubi selection and karubi kuppa. And when i taste it, in that moment, i know, its better than the all you can eat ones and i love it. The meat are tender.. thanks for the waiter who suggest me to let the chef cook it.

For desert i order milk pudding and mochi ice cream. The mochi ice cream are great, but the milk pudding not that sweet.. but overall, i have good experience.

By the way, its more expensive than the "all you can...
