Patty & Sons — Restaurant in Jakarta

Patty and Son located in Ashta within the mall itself. We came here around 5pm, and it was crowded, we almost had to wait for our seats, thankfully no need. Ambience of the place is very nice, my friend told me that it reminds her of NYC kind of restaurant, dim lights and etc. They have an outdoor seats, but back then it was very windy (since around ashta many tall buildings) and outdoor seats have no distance from one to another. Then indoor seats are more organize, sofa kind of, but it was fully occupied back then, so we took the seats near the outdoor. Service, they are well inform about the dish, but not the drinks. They could tell you which dish suits you based on your preference. Sadly, because it was crowded, they are overwhelmed and so the service kinda slow. Food came slow as well, we almost finish all the other dish except for the steak which took a long time. They gave us complimentary bread, ( do ask for another to eat it with the juice from the steak, trust me, it is delicious), the bread are nice not hard, accompanied by butter.

We ordered Crab Cake (175k): nothing special from this dish, it's very crumbling, crisp outside and soft inside which contains crab meat and dough. Don't know why many people order this, perhaps because of being influence just like us without knowing whether it is good or not. It is expensive, and not worth it(consist of two crab cake the size of small child palm) should have ordered the beef tartare instead.

Truffle mac and cheese (157k) if you like mac and cheese, you have to try this. No complain from this dish, generous with truffle, nice touch of burn crisp on top, and very creamy. The downside is, portion small.

New York striploin (400 gram for 530k) Have to say, the meat is so tasteless, I know steak should just be season with salt and pepper something, but still, at least the juice of the meat is tasty. The meat is kinda chewy, not soft melt type. I definitely don't recommend this meat with that price you could get the same quality but cheaper at other restaurant. You should just follow what the waitress recommend you, and she didn't rec this one (and so the crabcake).

Gotta say, my experience here is unique since the ambience of the restaurant is very nice, not the food though. I might not come back again for a second time or at least If I see that this restaurant is crowded. I would come back to try their recommendation instead blindly seeing what other ppl order and follow them , if I had the money since it is pricey and some...

I have been dying to try out this restaurant since I heard about their famous pastrami reuben sandwich. They welcomed us with a selection of bread which was all very enjoyable, please do me a favor and dont snack on your bread too much prior eating their food courses 🙂 I know, we are all hungry and we need something to chew on, but trust me you're gonna wanna wait.

For appetizer I tried on their crab cakes with smoked jalapeno butter. Honestly I'm not a big fan since it has this fishy taste that wasn't appealing at all. This is my least favourite dish here. Texture wise it's flaky but just the fishy taste & smell was way too pungent.

The home run appetizer goes to their angus beef tartare!! Accompanied with black truffle, deviled egg mayo and sourdough. This is practically raw ground beef with a more intense flavour from the spices it was marinated in. You can certainly tell that this is a fresh and high quality angus beef, can easily eat this as a main course as well!

Hot pastrami reuben consists of swiss cheese, pickled onion, russian dressing and rye bread. The bread itself wasn't too thick so the ratio is just perffff, the meat was extremely generous. The cheese a tad not too melted. But the pickled onion gave it the acidity that it needed to balance the richness of the sandwich altogether. P.s. the sandwich itself was rather bland and lack in seasoning. Maybe a pinch of salt more? 🤣

We also had their truffle tagliolini served with black truffle, butter and parmigiano reggiano. The truffle in this dish was not playin y'all. This dish screams truffle in so many ways. The consistency of the fettucine was perfectly done. I'm not a huge fan of truffle but it surely is a delight for my friend who enjoys truffle-y dishes!

Now for the dessert we opted for their tiramisu. Man if you look at their tiramisu, it wasn't as appealing, but it is so perfectly executed. It was not too sweet, very creamy and had that rich coffee flavor. Their combination of coffee, creamy mascarpone cheese and cocoa leaves you wanting to eat more and more. It is refreshing and satisfying. Though I would prefer to have a lil more of their lady fingers, but I still am satisfied with this dessert.

Overall, a great restaurant and would highly recommend people to try...

Patty & Sons is an American style restaurant inside ASHTA District 8. The restaurant is mostly crowded, so I highly suggest you to do the reservation first via telephone just like what I did. The dining in duration is for two hours.

They provide variant of Western foods starting from the starters, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, woodfire grill, side dishes, desserts, as well as alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.

While waiting for our order, we will get a plate of complimentary breads along with the smooth butter.

Here are what we tried :

Hot Pastrami Reuben (IDR 145,000) I could say that this is the most popular sandwich here that most of the foodies ordered, couldn't I? 😄 And yes, we also tried this one based on most of the foodies' reviews and recommendation. The long and crispy rye bread filled with abundant toppings, such as beef pastrami, cheese, pickle onion, and served with the French fries. This sandwich is suitable for sharing among 2 - 3 persons while you could try another menu as well 😁 We could feel the smoked taste from the filling. You'll be very satisfied with the abundant toppings and full as well!

Truffle Tagliolini (IDR 220,000) A plate of tagliolini pasta served with black truffle, butter and creamy sauce, parmigiano reggiano cheese. Oh.. The cheese has a strong taste. I highly recommend this pasta for a cheese lovers! ❤️🧀

Creamed Spinach (IDR 60,000) I really love this side dish! The creamy spinach gives a soft touch with great and healthy taste. Recommended!

Overall, I like the foods in Patty & Sons. Will be back for sure to have my favorite menu and definitely...
