Oysters are enjoyed around the world and have been called “the ginseng of the sea” in Korea. It is known to be rich in nutrients and anti-oxidants. They contain zinc, selenium, iron and calcium, and Vitamins A, B12 and D. Oysters even play a useful role in repairing the marine environment.
Indonesia, being an archipelago of 13,000 islands, has a very extensive coastline. Did you know that it has indigenous oysters that have their own unique textures and flavours ranging from creamy, sweet to briny.
I love oysters so I was so happy to discover that OD serves the freshest and tastiest oysters in Indonesia. They have two branches, one in PIK and the other at Ashta Mall, District 8.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-7pm, you can enjoy free- flow Indonesian oysters for an incredible IDR299++.
My personal favourite is the Kumamoto oysters from NTT. The Pacific oysters are just as good, they are more briny. It’s a matter of personal taste. On the menu, the price for half a dozen oysters is IDR 185k and a dozen for IDR359k. Apart from Indonesian oysters, OD also specialises in premium oysters from different regions of Japan.
OD also does all things oysters in so many different ways - from Appetisers to the Mains and even desserts! If you are an oyster lover, then OD must be oyster heaven.
But if you want something other than oysters, the good news is that their hot meals options from pastas to risottos are amazingly good.
We were blown away by the pan-seared seabass risotto, done just right, succulent and seared to a delightful crispness on the skin. All these come with a good selection of wines and drinks to pair with the meal. I’ll be coming back to try out the other dishes. Don’t take my word for it, try it...

Oysters are from Java. Chose from Pacific or Kumamoto They’re on the larger side. Fresh’s and delicious. Enjoyed with 6 sauces. My fav was the Mignonette, Tabasco and lemon.
Ala Carte:
1/2 dozen baked oysters : Rockefeller butter and garlic Bacon and tomatoes Sooooooooo yummy
Crispy Calamari cooked to perfection served with aioli sauce.
Hawaiian tartar appetizer: oyster, tuna , King cabrilla fish, squid and mangos. Perfect combination that satisfies the palate
Fried shrimp: a bit over cooked and not crispy. Needs to be perfected
Happy hour Drinks: Lichee highball: very subtle and refreshing. Hint of tea like flavors. Amazinnnnnggggggg
Skyscrape: vodka and sake. Strong kick.
Japanese aged(not the name) on the sweeter side. Least fav.

Read moreLoved the omakase experience! Usually came here for the free flow, but decided to try something new and chose their omakase instead.
I had a 4-course + amuse bouche set, and each dish was exceptional. The amuse bouche was a trout rice cracker with salmon tartare, green apple, kyuri, and jalapeno caviar. The starter included a fresh Canadian oyster with black tobiko, herbs oil, and green apple, as well as a gratin Kumamoto oyster with chimichurri, chili foam, and a parmesan cracker.
For the main course, I enjoyed a pan-seared baramundi with dill veloute, fondant potato, edamame, and asparagus. The dessert was a salted caramel pannacotta with salted caramel sauce, black tuile, and caramel crumble.
Additionally, I tried their crispy oyster balls, which were fantastic.
The cocktails were also noteworthy. I had the City Horizon, which had a pink foam, and the New York Sour, which had a refreshing lemon flavor.
Highly recommended! Each course and drink was a delightful...
