Wow… this place will give you all… good, cozy, romantic, intimate place. Ruth’s Chris is a perfect place for having a romantic dinner with your partner or a dinner with your beloved family.
Place : in a Sommerset Apartment place in Mega Kuningan, just next to Raffles Hotel. It’s a fancy area for luxury restaurant.
Ambient : Cozy, romantic ambient. If you want to find a place for your birthday or anniversary, this place is perfect for you. You have to make reservation a few days before to make sure that you get a table.
Price : it price IDR900k/ person before tax. Expensive? Wait until you read about the food.
Food : I order a set menu consist of starter (appetizer), entrees (main course), dessert. Lets start with the starter. You will get also a bread and butter for compliment. The portion of the food is “huge”. The bread is so good. Crunchy outside but so soft in the inside.
For starter, I choose Ruth’s Carpaccio, while my wife order Crab & Corn Chowder. What is Ruth’s Carpaccio? Ruth’s Carpaccio is a very thin slice of meat, and it’s not cooked at all, with salad. It taste so yummy. The permesan cheese makes the meet so good. Crab & Corn Chowder is a creamy soup with crab and corn. It’s so delicious.
Entrees i choose US Prime Ribeye and my wife order US Prime New York. All of was cooked in medium rare. Those steak was serve perfectly medium rare as I ordered. US Prime Ribeye is more juice and tasty since it has a quite a lot fat, while US Prime New York is more less fat so its more tender. I love every bite of the steak, since the fat is melted and not chewwy. If I may suggest you, please consider to not using a hot plate when serving steak, since a hot plate will always cooked the meat while we are eating it. Some of my meat (only a small pieces) become a medium cooked because of this. Resting the meat before it serve also important, and the hot plate will make the meat cannot rested perfectly. They also served a side dish, which I choose wild mushroom and my wife order creamed spinach. Wild mushroom is champignon mushroom that was cooked perfectly. I love this mushroom, it’s so good. Creamed spinach is a spinach that was cooked with a cream and it taste very tasty and creamy.
For dessert, a cheesecake is a must. It is the best cheesecake I’ve ever taste. They also put a dark choco to neutralize the sweetness of the cake.

Products: Order many of their cuts like Tomahawks, Porterhouse, Ribeye, etc. The meat stock was very limited as they said they were out of stocks. Many things in the menu were also unavailable. All spinach menu weren't available. The cuts were very bad. Almost all of the cuts were inedible due to many tendons inside. Had to use force to cut the thick meat. Although the cooking of Medium Rare was done well job.
The menu that are worth-it to order: The Appetizers / Side Dishes: Mac n Cheese, Mushrooms, Baked Potato, Broccoli.
Because of very slow services and unfulfilling mains, we ordered french fries as appetizer, mains and even dessert. Yes, the only acceptable item here is french fries and the other appetizers.
Ordered GnT Hendricks. What I got was really only Gin & Tonic and Ice. Really? Bartender never created GnT or what? No garnishes of Zucchini or even cucumber. Basically tasted only liquor can't even categorized that as cocktail.
Services: Staffs were not attentive, almost all time no one standby for the VIP room. Hospitality was nowhere to be found since entering the restaurant, no proper greeting, host leaning back her body on the wall, no smiles from the servers. Upon leaving the premises I needed to came back into the VIP room because I forgot my bag, found red-handed one of the waiter (tall one) opened his mask and from what I saw was munching on something. He quickly covered with his mask as his friends told me I was there behind him. I don't care, but just to note there was no hospitality to help me find my bag or even said thank you for our dinner.
Verdict: I don't care if it's just D-1 before Puasa so you stocked less, we came here because of the name, the rating, and was truly disappointed with everything. If you have much money laying around them go ahead dine here, otherwise there are many steak houses better than this with more value (based on my experience). I had far better overall...

Interest to porterhouse, however is not available during that time Me and husband decided to order tomahawk ribeye, medium preference. Side dish sauteed spinach and the fries. Had small debate with the waiter regarding to the fries type.. I saw julienne (regular cut) and steak fries. I asked him what kind of fries is this (by showing the picture), kind of long cubes.. He said steak fries, alright ordered that, but in the end he said it looks like a wedges ya bu nanti.. i said no, like the picture. He said again iya kurang lebih ya bu.
When it comes, its totally fckn' potato wedges, with very big size which is not comfortable to eat.. Sauteed spinach looks like boiled spinach since it has "pale water underneath", you know like you were "failed" to do sautee in the pan and it produce water that will boiled your veggie..
The steak just meh.. just very chewy, big lumps of tendon that i almost choked..., lots lots lots loooooots of fat.. it stated ribeye but its more near to sirloin, and theres no empathy from the waiter to offering to sliced into bite size.. Expected melted fat, but is not like tender fat at all..
Service, too scripted, every 5 minutes comes to table.. really not enjoying the moment to dine.. Every 5 minutes comes to the table but theres no sense of empathy or offering how to make the steaks more enjoyable (based on my last paragraph above)
Just 2 positive things in here the smell of butter while the steak sizzling on the hot plate.. thats pretty good the welcome bread.
Surely you need to improve.. But me and husband surely...
