Sukiya Tokyo Bowls & Noodle - Central Park Mall — Restaurant in Jakarta

this outlet is located on the basement level of the mall. although it is said that this one is in central park mall, i think this restaurant is located near the neo soho mall, through the connecting tunnel.

the menu is basically gyudon or beef rice bowls, and ramen noodles. they have different toppings and sizes. you can order the menu using the qr code provided. i like their kimchi gyudon. the menu is actually kimchi mayo gyudon, but i think it's weird to put mayonaise on top of the kimchi. to order this, i need to ask the staff directly so they don't include the mayonaise.

the kimchi gyudon is definitely delicious. the beef is tender and savory. the kimchi gives freshness, crunch, and also sourness to balance out the flavor.

they have a side dish menu too. the chicken karaage is too small. it's not worth...

The taste of miso soup was a little bit weird, also there were only three very small blocks of tofu sized around 2x2x2 cm. Teriyaki Rice bowl was ok, but the drink I ordered (Strawberry lemonade) had very big iced cubes so it was hard for me to drink and .. yes, the portion itself, was not worth the price, in my opinion.

There were no staff welcoming or accompanying when I entered the restaurant. I need to press the bell to get the menu, while the people on the other table they got the menu right after they sit.

While asking for the payment method, the staff I talked to were straightforward and seemed like she was in a rush. The same with cashier, after gave me the receipt, she didn't talked anything and just left 😅

I definitely will think thrice to back again and eat...

A solid contender to the strong-rooted Yoshinoya! I like their approach of maintaining their original taste profile while introducing new menus that embrace local tongue (Jakarta Ramen anyone?). Their original taste in gyudon may come across as bland, however this allows for the mellow flavor from the beef as well as the sweetness of the onion to come up. Curry is surprisingly Indian style, but still like it otherwise, just don't be surprised!

The service is a bit understaffed but they make up for it with their high spirit.
