Waki Signature SCBD — Restaurant in Jakarta

Tried out this restaurant based on recommendations from social media. It's a yakiniku restaurant where you grilled your own meat. It's tucked away in an office tower in SCBD area of Jakarta.

The grilling pot is from real charcoal which adds to the flavour. They have various packages and even reasonable priced ones comes omplete with set meal including rice, salad, soup and dessert. The meat they offer is only beef but many are rated A5 ie high quality and imported. The food can be said great and is really value for money.

What I don't like is the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's unwelcomingly dark, giving it a "dine in a dungeon" feel. I saw photos of the restaurant and know it's dark but I was visiting during lunch time and I really don't expect it to be this "dark". The seats are also not comfortable for prolong dinning. Service is kind of slow. Also, they primarily only serve beef and nothing else, no seafood or chicken or other options.

My total bill comes out to be less than Rp700k which is very reasonable and that includes a take-away Truffle Gyudon. Comparing this with Gyu Kaku, another very famous yakiniku chain, this serve better quality beef but value for money in Gyu Kaku is better with the all you...

I recently dined at Waki Signature SCBD and I must say that I was thoroughly disappointed with the restaurant's service. My experience during lunch was nothing short of frustrating.

Upon arriving, we were informed that they had a lunch set available. However, to our surprise, the staff suddenly informed us that the lunch set was not available at 12:20 PM. We inquired about what exactly was unavailable, and we were told that it was only the plate that was not available. We suggested that the restaurant could simply use another plate, but then we were informed that even the side dish was also out of stock.

Despite our disappointment, we decided to give the restaurant a chance and said that we didn't mind. However, when our soup arrived, we were shocked to find that it only contained vegetables and lacked any meat.

Needless to say, I was extremely let down by the service at Waki Signature SCBD. It was disheartening to see such a lack of coordination and communication among the staff. I had expected a better dining experience, but unfortunately, this visit fell far short of my expectations. Plus point for this restaurant is the price. It's value for money. Quality of meet is good for the price, especially the lunch package. The atmosphere is quite nice, although the place is too dark and the table has a thick list that makes our leg room so short and hit the table all the time. The worst part is the service. Very slow service, the waiters are not responsive and seems that they are understaff. We couldn't see anyone around to take order. The waitress took initiative to offer me another dish when I ordered a lunch package, she said what I ordered is not nice and she recommended something else, which turned out to be disappointing. Suggestion to the management : do not comment on someone's order and suggest other food by saying the one that the guest ordered is not nice, as it's not very appropriate. Another suggestion is to change the small wooden bowl for appetizers on the lunch package, it smells horrible because wood is not easy to dry!
