Cempaka cafe and Homestay — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

The best Cafe & Homestay. I have been coming to Bali and the Bukit area for many many years and have watched it develop and become busier with Western Restaurants. HOWEVER, I have always come back to this local warung/cafe for it's delicious food, they have some of the best local dishes in the area while also serving western style breakfast and Asian fusion: Curries, Indonesian, Spring Rolls, Breakfast Burgers, Smoothie Bowls, COFFEE (good coffee) etc.

The prices are amazing for the great quality ingredients and dishes that they serve and I give them a shout out for always serving the best food I have had in Bali!

MY favourites and tips if you are visiting: Nasi Campur (local style buffet, they do the best sambal on the island) SPRING ROLLS Nasi Goreng & Mie Goreng Breakfast Burger The Omelette Smoothie Bowls Big Breakfast

The list could go on cause I have ate at this establishment so many times!! I highly recommend.

I have also stayed at the homestay before and the rooms are great quality for the price in the prime location. They are clean, presentable, and offer everything you need for your stay.

Had been craving beef rendang since the previous evening, was super happy to come across this place that happened to have it on their sandwich board. I had just arrived to Uluwatu and was walking randomly late in the evening, starving. Thought it was my lucky day. Too bad the meat was tough and chewy, not slow cooked long enough and the portion of protein was a bit small, also ordered the papaya salad. Got the vege breakfast and there was small amount of food and the toast was cold and there were missing ingredients; quench juice tasted like store-bought apple juice. When we went to pay the waitress told us it was cash only, which was not stated on the menu and not communicated. When I told her there were missing ingredients on my meal she said that I should have asked for it (it's like getting avocado on toast and asking for avocado and bread lol) - not great attitude. We then took money out at the atm nearby and when we came back to pay there were 3 people at the counter, making us feel intimidated as if we weren't going to pay. Very very poor service, will...
