Ja'Jan Bistro, one of the in-house restaurants at Merusaka Nusa Dua Beachfront Resort/hotel was our dinner choice on our first night of our stay at Merusaka in Nusa Dua, Bali. I had something light to eat, a club sandwich "The Club", and my wife had the Pan-seared Australian Beef Striploin with mashed potatoes, roast tomato and garlic & thyme. The club sandwich I had was ok, not great, not bad as far as club sandwiches go (I had better ones in Bali, and in Greece where we live). The Striploin was pretty good. The Pineapple Caramel Torte dessert we ordered was awesome in terms of looks and taste! The madagascar vanilla ice cream was amazing, and the caramel infused tarte was freshly made and very tasty. We also had a second night in at the Ja'Jan, ordering a seafood soup and a burger along with a coconut based cocktail. They were as good as the striploin, very decent. Service was still on the slow side but we went in expecting the worst after Gading Restaurant telling us they had a 1hr wait for food. Here, it was a little over half that and there was a talented pianist and singer playing some relaxing tunes live keeping us entertained. The meals were good and came with some nice complimentary bread also. Our kids didn't eat their meals (rightfully, we had a taste and they were super dry and overcooked) but the ice cream made up for that in their minds. Tip: don't get the coffee flavour gelato (or was it called Tiramisu) which...
