Maja Restaurant — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

Came here for a quiet dinner with family including young son who was swiftly given the kids menu. Important footnote.

We ordered from the regular and kids menu and everything seemed as it should. Note that we directly pointed out our orders from the menu since the waiter did not seem confident in English. However, we carried on as he repeated back our order as requested . Our first red flag was when my son's "kids" drink came out in the same sized glass as large as the older people's drinks. Ok.. then after delivering the main dishes, except mine, they brought out the dessert ( gelato) at the same time as the main course. Huh? We told them to bring it after the meal because our 6 year old would go for dessert first... Still waiting for my entree when the waiter comes back and asks if everything is ok... Well we were missing a dish... Seems they forgot it as it didn't come until when nearly every one else finished. And it was probably the sweetest Thai green curry I've ever had in an unholy green color. The tofu was under cooked and it tasted like a rush job.

Finally after eating, got thr bill and found out we were charged not for the kids menu combo that we ordered but an adult portion of everything on the child menu. Wtaf.

Took another 15 mins to get it corrected and refunded and reissued. No apology for the screw ups and especially that they forgot a meal, messed up multiple times and overcharged us.

The ambiance and environment was pleasant but the service was atrocious for the price and the reputation of the hotel.

Eating at Maja Restaurant was truly an enjoyable experience. The place looks great, the atmosphere is calm and comfortable, yet still feels elegant. It's perfect for dining with family, friends, or a partner.

The food was also really delicious! Everything tasted fresh and was well-cooked. One of my favorites was the Maja Beef Rendang — the flavor was just right and the presentation was beautiful.
