We had a family dinner here, and overall the experience almost deserves the high rating it has on Google — give or take. Personally, I’d rate it a solid 4.5.
We had a reservation for 8 p.m. The first table offered to us was right by the kitchen door, tucked away in a corner deep inside the restaurant — definitely the worst spot. Fortunately, another table became available, and we moved; otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have stayed.
Food: Simple but very good, especially considering the value for money. Service: Friendly and attentive when they notice you, though at times it takes a little while to get their attention. Drinks/Cocktails: Nicely prepared, as they should be. Cleanliness: The restaurant is neat, and the toilets are clean.
As for the dishes, everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Thai soup to start, which was excellent, followed by salmon. The salmon was slightly overcooked, but overall the dish was still tasty, with original flavors that made it enjoyable.
My wife ordered the seafood platter, which was very rich and flavorful. My son had beef tacos — the taste was very good, but he wasn’t a fan of the hard taco shell as it broke apart and affected the experience. He also tried the 200g grilled squid with butter sauce, which he loved. Finally, my daughter had chicken fried rice, which she enjoyed as well.
Drinks were good. Our mojito was a little too sweet at first, but the staff quickly replaced it, and the second one was perfect. There’s a decent selection of alcohol, including surprisingly affordable whiskey.
Overall: A good dining experience with quality food, fair prices, and friendly service — with just a few small points that could...

Read moreI did a good bit of research before settling on sapa to treat myself to a nice seafood dinner before leaving Bali. First red flag when I walked in was children screaming and running around, cheap tables and chairs and - hard to explain it any way else - bad feng shui with the tables that made you feel uncomfortable unless you’re sitting around the outside of the restaurant. I had oysters which just came with lemon (no vinaigrette) and imo were too large and not that tasty. I wanted a grilled lobster but he brought me one which was £58 (!!!!?) and said it even a small lobster was more expensive than the lobster Thermidor. I’ve had cheaper lobster in the UK but okay. I have never had lobster thermidor but it turns out to be a cheese sauce which ruined the natural delicious flavour of the lobster for me. The menu just describes it as “their own sauce” and doesn’t mention what its made up of. It came with a couple of limp vegetables so I had to order a side as well. I had a very average meal which cost me £50, a small fortune in Bali. There are plenty of expensive restaurants near me that had lobster which at least were a bit more fine dining rather than a cafe with poor ambience and screaming children for the same...
