Flapjaks Bali — Restaurant in Kuta

After much roadside harassment, we were persuaded to try this restaurant. We ordered the chicken burger as we thought it might be a safe bet, but we was wrong. After a substantial wait, Which is ironic as we was the only people in the restaurant, the chicken burger came which actually did look really good. However, when we bit into the burger we was greeted by uncooked chicken which was fluorescent pink. This made one tear drip down my face, as I summoned every morsel of willpower to stop the contents of my stomach ejecting through my mouth. A truly sad sight. The chips were good though. The waitress came over and witnessed the devastation on the plate, and offered us some pancakes as a sorry, which we did accept gratefully. These were great, but not worth the consequences of the next event. After finishing the pancakes, we proceeded to leave the restaurant as the waitress initially told us it was free. As we get 50 yards up the road we turn around to see the waitress sprinting after us demanding that we have to pay for the chicken burger as she had already processed it through the till. We was mortified and upset. If you do decide to eat here, please play it safe and only get pancakes or ice cream as they can’t really get this wrong, or even a glass of water. Great restaurant with the best staffmember Dedi!

I want to share our amazing experience here. Sorry for the long post.

During the last hours before our flight home we decided we wanted to have waffles one last time. Already running a bit late we decided to go to this flapjaks location and ask if it was possible to take-away our order.

Dedi was extremely helpful. He understood the situation and rushed to the kitchen to prepare our order. Within the promised timeframe he got us our food. What a Joy 🤩

For the take-away hé seperated all liquids and things that can melt, and even put our icecream on ice so it wouldnt melt. Might be standard practise, but we really appriciated it.

The food was delicous, will definitely return if we're back in Bali.

I ordered a Tropical Waffle (of the tropical variety, half of it is passion fruit, and it’s tasteless) The rest is apple and pear, why the waffles are called tropical remains a question. At first glance, everything looks very tasty and satisfying. But when I cut the waffles, I saw that they were hollow inside and generally raw , not fried. Such a huge plate could have easily filled me up if the dish had been prepared properly, but after eating this dish I was left hungry. My husband ordered CHICKEN SZECHUAN, in theory there should have been pieces of chicken, but out of 3 pieces there were 2 pieces of just chicken skin and 1 piece of chicken on the bone.
