#throwback #Aug In my recent venture to Bali (for work), we had the privilege to host 13 guests from Asia, attending a medical conference. Our goal was to find a noteworthy restaurant in the Kuta area, and after scouting various locations, we discovered a hidden gem that turned out to be our ultimate choice.
Nestled within a hotel, this restaurant boasts a charming ambience with Balinese decor that sets the stage for a delightful dining experience. Although the food isn't top-notch, it outshines many other Balinese cuisine serving establishments. The menu showcases authentic dishes that truly reflect the island's essence.
One of the highlights was that we brought our own wines, which added a personal touch to our meal. I’ll share more about the fantastic wine shop we sourced them from in a future post!
However, it’s worth mentioning that the service was quite slow. It took at least 20 minutes for them to bring glasses for our sparkling water, and the wait for wine glasses was even longer (They grabbed it in the basement, somewhere lol). This delay tested our patience, and I could see it made my boss a little frustrated. Improving the speed of service would certainly elevate the dining experience.
On a positive note, the staff were helpful and friendly, even if their pace could use a bit of a boost!
The evening continued at the bar right next to the restaurant, where we savored fine whisky and luxurious cigars (we brought our own whiskey and cigars) — an ideal way to unwind after a long day.
Overall, this restaurant met our needs and provided a memorable evening. If you're in the Kuta area, it's worth a visit, just be prepared for a leisurely pace!
The photographs I have included showcase our dining experience, spanning from lunch (food tasting) to dinner (group dinner) at the same establishment.
An added convenience was the pre-arranged car pickup service available at the restaurant's entrance. This made transportation to and from the venue seamless for our group, further enhancing the...
Read morewe stayed here and went to grab lunch before going out, we ordered seafood there. there are three staffs greeting us.
the food takes longer than we expected to be arrived, and we saw how busy the waitress that taking our order was. we have no idea why only her that was busy taking order from one table to another even serving the food while nobody seems not busy enough? was that because of cooking class? but the lady that taking our order felt guilty and apologized to us, we didn’t mad at her instead we felt sorry for her cause it seems only her doing the job alone and even hard to manage everything at once. there are many dirty plates that need to be taken from our table but seeing her condition we just leave it aside and trying to enjoy the food as much as we can, but since we didn’t have much time left we asked her to wrap our leftovers, and it still takes time since again, it’s only her doing the job.
not sure why it happened that time since the rest of the staff seems not so busy, but please try to evaluate this to your staff and make them share the work fairly, do not pass it to one person only.
the food tasted okay, but the apple juice abit disappointing since we paid for this and turns out its not the same like the one we got from...
Read moreWent here for breakfast. (IDR 150,000/Pax)
The buffet have a few section. Pastry, Balinesse dessert, Pancake, waffle and crepe fresh fruit cold cut and salad cereal egg station, sausage (chicken) and Bacon (Pork) hot meal.
The food selection are great. Especially the coconut pancake smell when you enter from the street.
They have coffee machine which make a really great coffee. (Might want to put a black coffee pot, next to the machine. Would help reduce the waiting time for the automatic coffee machine)
Word of advice to the management. Please set up staff at the entrance, as it is confusing when non guest want to get the buffet breakfast. Some would think they can just act like guest and none of the staff will be the wiser.
One staff in particular are standing out in a not nice way.
If you want to clear up plate on thable with customer still dining, a small "excuse me" or "may i" would really help with the hospitality feel. Because it does not feel good to have the staff stalked your table, approach it slowly and wondering which plate to take while standing next to the dining table
It would be nice to have the milk chilled. And maybe to cover the pastry. Take inconsideration that your restsurant (Breakfast) area are...
