2.4.2024 16:08: Fairly centrally located Japanese restaurant in Kuta, Bali, Indonesia.
Food: i had a Combo Karaage Black pepper and my companion had a Combo Yakiniku and a Sparkling Mango Cup. I naturally ate the food with the provided chopsticks which i enjoy using. There were additional ingredients in the form of a spice tray. There was pickeled ginger which fit the dish perfectly, some really spicy chili sauce that you don't want to use excessively, sambal which is typical If not a bit milder and pepper. The crispy greens were really well made and have beautiful texture and taste. The ginger i absolutely enjoyed to the fullest. The base being the rice cooled down quite fast, but the spicyness of the food made it less noticeable. The beef bowl was well spiced and cooked. The chicken karaage were really hot and did not cool down which was really enjoyable too. All in all the dish was a delight and over My expectations. Perfect 5/5.
Service: service took a while, but then again we were the onlyones at the restaurant. We were told to come pick up our food at the counter in about ten minutes. I did not mind this as i explored the insides of the restaurant and washed my hands at the toilet. Service 4/5.
Atmosphere: The place has three stories. We had the whole second floor to ourselves only to be joined by two other people as we were already finishing. The place was clean. The toilet was small and could be better but did it's job. The background music was peaceful and enjoyable plus fit the place well. It could be a bit colder inside but not too warm (compared to outside being +32C). Comfortable seating and nice views to The streets. It's a 4/5.
Overall: I can easily recommend you to try this place. For me, it was a first experience of Japanese food in this form. And as usual, The most weight is on the food and it being so lovely with a reasonable pricing and friendly staff, clean interior, i enjoyed to give it...
Read moreIt was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I arrived at the restaurant and waited patiently for a frustrating 20 minutes, eagerly anticipating my meal. When I finally reached the cashier, the young girl behind the register informed me they didn’t have a credit card machine. This was surprising, especially since I had just seen another customer pay with a card moments before.
Confused, I hesitated and explained to her that I had no cash on me. To my astonishment, she pulled out a card machine as if she hadn't mentioned its absence earlier. This inconsistency left me feeling frustrated and skeptical.
After finally placing my order, I was told it would take about 15 minutes. However, I waited an additional 30 minutes before my food arrived. The whole process was riddled with inefficiencies, and the quality of service was shockingly poor.
Reflecting on my experience, I couldn't help but feel that Bali had changed significantly. The vibrant spirit of the place seemed overshadowed by a growing prevalence of hustlers, scams, and thefts. It felt sad to witness such a decline in a destination that once felt welcoming...
Read moreDuring our recent trip to Bali, we visited Yoshinoya and encountered significant issues. The restaurant was chaotic and fell short of expectations. The food was passable, but condiments were scarce and scattered, and cleanliness was lacking. Additionally, washrooms were inaccessible and out of order on the dimly lit second floor.
The most frustrating aspect was the delay in food preparation. Initially told it would take 15 minutes, it ended up being closer to 45 minutes. When we requested a refund, the staff initially refused, and the situation escalated until the manager intervened, providing our food after another 10 minutes.
I advise against visiting this establishment, as it does not align with the Japanese standard one...
