Makase — Restaurant in Kuta

It’s my first time in Bali, Indonesia and we stayed at the astounding Hotel Indigo Seminyak which houses the Makasse Restaurant. We stayed for a week and it included daily breakfast & dinner at Makasse. For dinner, your food is made fresh upon order. I tried a variety of different dishes here and I was not disappointed by one. The menu had milkshakes and I was excited to order a strawberry milkshake as my dessert that particular evening, but the Indonesian milkshake was not what we Americans are used to, it tasted like strawberry Yoo-Hoo syrup in a glass of milk with ice cubes, I did not drink it but quickly realized that it just means a different style drink here in Bali. The menu choices are not vast but provides enough variety. The chicken fried rice became my favorite. The Oolong tea presentation was super cute and the tea tasted great. Breakfast daily is buffet style and I was in awe to see so many non-traditional (for Americans) breakfast foods presented, such as rice and grace pastas, noodles, etc. I overly enjoyed my stay and the many Indonesian style dishes that were afforded at Makasse. LOVED this breakfast buffet. Fresh, crazy amount of choice, beautiful presentation and good service. Never had any issues with lining up to be let in or get a table, there is plenty of seating.
